So now that the book is done, it's about time for us to start coming up with some new pet theories, right?
So I've seen around that people have been mentioning the idea that maybe Snape isn't dead after all, since Harry sort of just left his body there and we never do find out what happened to him. Plus which we don't see a ghost, there's no Headmaster portrait afawk, and no mention of a grave or anything like that. So what if he did survive, in the end? The theory, I believe, is that he's been double-crossing Voldemort for years and so surely he'd know what he was capable of (hence the panic/stalling in the Shrieking Shack) and therefore might well have stockpiled some way of cheating death - never know, right?
I'm also thinking about the fact that in the dreaded Epilogue, we never do find out the identity of Draco's mysterious wife. Harry doesn't recognise her, either because he doesn't know her from school, or because he never saw her face.
You see where I'm going with this.
ETA: Clearly we Snaco shippers are on the same good drugs. femmequixotic agrees with me - and yes, we did come up with those completely independent of each other.
