I totally just took a stand with my family about my religious beliefs! Ahhh! My sister emailed me an invite to her Easter Sunday service, and CC'd my entire effin family! And I "reply all"d with this:
Thanks for the invite, but I politely decline. I'd like to remind everyone that my family is a completely different religion, and while we have no problem doing Christian things for the Cullman crowd, I'd really like to get past this issue with you all. I of course realize that evangelism is a large part of your faith, and I think I am more than considerate and accepting of your beliefs - but would appreciate it if you could consider my feelings on the matter as well. Its very awkward for us to keep having to decline things like this, and would be much easier on everyone if we could all practice a bit more religious tolerance. Not everyone's path to the Divine the same :) So lets work on some mutual respect! Anyway, I hope no one gets all weird about this, everything is still the same as it was before you opened this email, I just think its time we outed the "elephant in the room" and got over this! Yay!
