on friday night i arrived in London (on a train that was two hours late) and i indulged in my favourite Londonian activity: a bit of ex-Libs-stalking. i went with my friend Charlotte to the launch of club night Dangerous To Know, curated by Natt Weller (son of Paul). Carl B and Didz H were spinning sounds as well as my new hero: Noel F of Mighty Boosh. it was good fun, especially Noel F, this guy is crazy, in a good way. Didz made my night by playing Elastica, and Carl has cut his hair so short i didn't even recognize him at first, although he was standing inches from me. also people were giving out free glasses of red wine around so we had a cheerful time.
on saturday i met up with Sophie and Amandine and it was so hot we went to get a suntan in Hyde Park in the afternoon, then we were invited to 93 Feet East to catch up with the Good Shoes boys who were djing. Tom was his usual sweet and friendly self. and for once it was my actual name on the guestlist, not someone else's (or a member of Blur's...). i couldn't stay long though because i was staying at my friend Delphine's place and she was holding her birthday party, so i arrived there and the party was in full swing, which was nice. i'm starting to get into this socialising thing as well, which helped.
on sunday we went to this 1234 festival in Shoreditch. it was boiling hot. i thought i was going to die of sunstroke. ME! but it was all worth it, The Bishops blew my mind once again, and the sight of Fabrizio Moretti doing the dance routine to Dirty Dancing with Har Mar Superstar in a thong was quite disturbing. on the way out i bumped into Gary Powell, just so i can say the ex-Libs are stalking me just i stalk them.
now i'm up in Sheffield with Sadie and Matt, for a week of respite and general not-doing-much. perfect.
