A Poem I Wrote

Yet again there is talk of war
I keep wondering
What are we fighting for
Are we fighting oppression
Do we want to make the world free
Or are we being brutes
Are we bullies
I want to make the world a better place
I want to make a change
But how do I do that
Who is really to blame
We were attacked
We were knocked to the ground
We are retaliating
We are bringing our enemy down
Bu I feel we keep pursuing
Those who we think are our foes
We will destroy the alliances
We will create even more woes
The President is talking of using
Nuclear Bombs
Won't the fall-out from the bombing
Do even more harm
They are even talking about taking
More of our freedoms away
If they continue doing this
Our country will be like our "enemies" one day
"Big Brother" is watching everything we do
They say it is for our safety
They think they have us fooled
I am keeping my eyes open
I'm not letting down my guard
I am back to where I began
To what is bugging me
Why must we go to war
What ever happened to peace
All over the world people are dying from Hunger, AIDS, Disease
We say we are feeding the world
But the world is still dying from hunger
How much longer can we go on without helping
We cannot wait much longer
We need to stop fighting with each other
We are a family
We are all related
Whether we want to be
What affects the one
Affects us All
We are fighting like children
We are supposed to be adults
Grow up World
Just Grow Up.
