Sigh. Amazon is gonna catch holy hell for this... and rightly so. I still say that if they want to add an "adult content" filter as an OPTION, that's fine, but they should let folks make that decision for themselves. And FFS get someone with a working brain and an OPEN MIND to work out the parameters of what's "adult" and what isn't!

Exactly. I mean, I have nothing against an adult filter if it is applied without bias to all adult content, and as long as bias isn't used to define what is 'adult'. And it should be optional.

Amazon deserve every bit of criticism they get. Even if this wasn't the intent, it looks fucking awful that they didn't think of how this might work out. And it is especially offensive when there is a load of other content on their site which I frankly find disgusting.

Today is certainly the day for disgusting. I saw that post you were on about earlier on your LJ. That was fucking sick.

Ah, I read about this.

A big WTF and an even bigger Fuck You to Amazon from me for deliberately taking LGBT books out of their search and stripping them of their ranks. Seriously, Amazon might as well have said, "We think you LGBT people are icky and we want you to have as little profit as possible on our website! Ick!"

Also, as has been pointed out, in order to purchase anything from Amazon you have to be 18 years or older, so why would "dirty books" be an issue? Unless its the mere EXISTENCE of the books that causes such horror, which is too headdesk-y to contemplate, especially since you can still ogle sex toys and other fun things that would get young imaginations (and libidos) revving into overdrive.

Whatever. Amazon is crying "glitch" and NO ONE is buying. Try again, boys. Once more, with feeling! (she said, cleverly referencing a profane show about lesbians and- gods help us- show tunes! OMG!!)
