6:49 AM IN THE MORNING I WAS UP SINCE 5:45 DRYING STUFF

OMG THE ROADS ARE ALL FLOODED
LIKE REALLY FLOODED
CARS ARE SUBMERGED
SOME OF THEM ALMOST COMPLETELY. YOU CAN SEE THEIR HOOD STICKING OUT OF THE BROWN WATER D: D: D:

AND THIS IS ONE OF THE HIGHEST PARTS OF SINGAPORE AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE LOW-LYING AREAS BUT NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE ARE AWAKE

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A FLOOD HERE BEFORE IN ALL MY TEN YEARS LIVING HERE. THIS IS EXCITING.

THERE ARE PEOPLE WALKING WADING OUT THERE IN THE STREETLAMPS WITH UMBRELLAS AND WATER UP TO THEIR KNEES OR WAISTS
AND IT IS ALL UTTERLY FASCINATING BUT KIND OF DEPRESSING FOR THE PEOPLE WHOSE CARS ARE PROBABLY SOAKED WITH WATER INSIDE

I heard someone scream downstairs. :\ Presumably they just saw their car.

I WANT TO GO DOWN AND TAKE PICTURES. My mother said 'no, if you open the lift door water might rush in'. WHICH WOULD BE AWESOME. I NEED MORE EXCITEMENT IN MY LIFE.

My father managed to take pictures out the window. It's still dark out - sunrise not for another 15 minutes, I think, but the photo turned out okay.

oh man. and the rain still hasn't stopped.
lol at people on Twitter tweeting about the floods. It's hit multiple parts of the island, apparently.

Our car is on slightly raised ground in the open-air carpark, so the water's just up to the tyres from what we can see from the window. The carpark is full and then some; cars just lining up in rows from people who moved them up from the more-flooded areas.

Apparently insurance doesn't cover this. I feel sorry for the owner of that one car I can see barely make out in the water; it's the worst one out there. Just the hood sticking out.

earlier this morning at around 5:45 am I woke up to find that corner of my room wet *again* and puddles of water on the floor from the stupid crack in the wall and was busy drying stuff and lamenting the loss of some things which I would have liked to keep around a while more, half-asleep and FML-ing.

BUT NOW IT IS ALL INSIGNIFICANT IN COMPARISON TO WHAT'S GOING ON DOWN THERE.

My brother can't go to school. He has some debates competition, but there's no way the car can move out in that. For a long time more.

ahahaha: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/1069901/1/.html
They're fast.
It's been flashflooding for a while the past few days, but not over here: http://www.gmanews.tv/story/193632/heavy-rains-in-singapore-bring-unusual-floods

On Wednesday: "An online report from Singapore's Straits Times quoted Singapore's national water agency as saying the two-hour downpour registered 100 mm of rain - more than half of the country's average monthly rainfall for June."

WEATHER IS CRAZY.

stuff that is awesome, singapore, weather
