HostHelpers, no thanks for conking out two of my three websites for about a day now.
I'M NOT NOT-PAYING YOU FOR NOTHING.
Servers are down, lots of people are complaining, HostHelpers admin are not responding at all, which is the most infuriating because they could at least drop by to say "yeah, servers are down, but we'll get them up soon, don't worry." rather than leave everyone wondering wtf is going on and how long this will last. Some people are losing paying customers, as they point out in their forum complaints.
HH is currently by far the best free webhost out there, and if this goes it's going to take forever to find another with the same capabilities along with the kind of stuff that they don't outrightly mention, such as:
'we ban all pages containing words with possible pornographic meanings, so if your webpage includes the phrase "clamp down on" we are going to ban the site because 'clamp' can also mean "a very tight vagina" and it's your fault if you don't know that.'
^which totally happened. And it's amazing how many free webhosts actually do have those filters to prevent porn sites from hosting at them, but I seriously think that the bulk of victims are completely innocent websites which might have content about, say, raising male chickens.
And there's no way I'm paying for just about 10-20 files. WINM has about 3000+ files, so it's worth it, and even then it's barely using up a fifth of the total allowed diskspace. Anything less than a hundred files are just not worth a paid host.
