Bram Stoker's Dracula - with unhelpful running commentary
Will be away until next week; visiting family in Malaysia.
Am currently watching Bram Stoker's Dracula on Youtube. Because I share the same birthday as Bram Stoker, and I don't have time to read the full novel though I've intended to for some time. I shall settle for the movie. The closest I've come so far is watching Dracula: Dead and Loving It, which probably isn't the same:
Dracula: Openn the doorrrr.
Hypnotised!Mina: *opens the door*
Dracula: ... MIIINNAAA. You are in the closssettt.

...I actually like Keanu's bad British accent. I mean, as British accents go it's kind of bad (if the majority of viewers are to be believed; several Brits on IMDb claimed that it was actually a pretty good impersonation of an old high-class British accent), but as accents in general... I actually like it. If he talked like that more often I'd watch more of his interviews. He sounds interestingly not-Keanu. *fascinated*
...Gary Oldman is amusing. It's all the more amusing if I think SIRIUS BLACK!!!11 And kind of traumatising too. And what's with his accent. It's not-British too. >_> And makes me laugh.
This whole movie is really bizarre (though not as much as the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Nothing beats that in wtfness. Except maybe Primer, but in a totally different way, i.e. more unintelligible incoherent scientific mumbling, less Tim Curry in drag.) At least Parts 1 and 2 out of 12 are, because that's all I've seen so far. Youtube FTW. \o/
lulz Constantine is showing on TV in 20 minutes time.
Watched WALL-E today with blueberlin and gooday and quipex. Good movie, but not to the extent of top 10 ever as IMDb people voted it. I heart post-apocalyptic worlds. Though I guess this one wasn't as much post-apocalyptic as post-humans.
...Were the cast and crew of Bram Stoker's Dracula all on crack?
...actually come to think of it, the answer might be literally yes. Uh.
I need to stop laughing whenever Gary Oldman appears.
Why are Dracula/Jonathan so slashy. Is it a vampire thing?
Which reminds me of Twilight and how gooday suggested that we read it in order to further understand the mind of a Mary Sue writer.

whoa, they are naked. Thankfully I'm above 18 and thus not being illegal. It's really strange that the legal age for sex in Singapore is 16, but the legal age for porn is 18. who decides these things, seriously.
It's good that my parents are currently away on a walk. If they saw me watching this now they would flip. It's like three naked girls and a thankfully not-naked Keanu.
