so today was safety day today at the pool...basically teaching kids all that good saving stuff....n stuff. So we were teaching them boat safety. And out of my mouth pops, "is it ok for grown-ups to drink alcohol in the boat?" and the kids all respond "no! iot's very bad!" and I'm glad they said this. I didn't mean to say it, it kinda just popped out of my mouth. And I think I heard a parent gasp. Tough. It's good for the parents to know if they happens to overhear me.
But where on earth did this outburst come from?

I was down by the river, chillin, as I am prone to do. And theres this big party, interrupting my chill, throwing off my grove, damn them, the bastards. What I found absolutely disgusting, appauling, revolting, was the people there. not sitting in the raft, on the edge, standing up in the boat, not one wearing a lifejacket, some struggling to swim, and beer, lots of beer. Jumping off ledges into shallow pools with lots of rocks. As a lifeguard, it made me want to vomit. Without realizing it I started to guard the river, after an hour or so, sure enough I had to jump in and grab someone. My first actual rescue, off the clock, and a drunken bastard. Fucking morons.
