New Year's wrap-up

Where did you begin 2008
On emily Mccormack's couch in Maui, watching Tila Tequila's countdown. I'm afraid that's true.

What was your status by Valentines Day?
I had the worst night at the Outback..this local guy almost picked a fight with me for forgetting his bread.

Were you in school anytime this year?
I took a first aid course, ah, and taught classes at MCS- does that count?

Did you have to go to the hospital?
one check up.

Did you have any encounters with the police?
hahahah, apartment security only. I'll tell that story when you guys are older.

Where did you go on vacation?
do working holidays count? then, hawai'i and California. Maybe the roadtrip counts too? I also went to Cape Cod for a weekend wedding, which was fun and quite eventful/educational

What did you purchase that was over $100?
Gre's as well. uhm, rent, new tires post-road trip. i paid off my car...this will be a boring list, so i shall stop here

Did you know anybody who got married?
senior kupher and jen

Did you know anybody who passed away?
sort of, not anyone really close though

Did you move anywhere?
story of my early 20's so far..

What sporting events did you attend?
I played baseball with my family a lot. also, the infamous midnight ultimate frisbee in maui.

What concerts/shows did you go to?
i saw miss jennifer perform in salem. is that it? i feel uncultured. Oh no! i saw some killer drag shows at the 3.

Describe your birthday:
I worked at MCS where my clients sang an unforgettable 'happy birthday,' then i returned home for a lovely family gathering, and then drinks with joe and becky, followed by the vice presidential debates with our bar fellows.

What is the one thing you thought you would not do, but did, in 2008?
spend a collected 3 months unemployed? man, that's weak.

What has been your favorite moment?
hmmm. Maybe our going-away bonfire party in maui. that was sad and lovely. we made some really fantastic friends there in a short amount of time. and surprising my family when we got back from hawai'i.
sunrise in haleakala was surreal and amazing. also some cheesy wonderfulness with manfriend, that i won't sicken jen with :D

Oh!!!! and obama winning! how could i leave that out!

Any new additions to your family?
hahaha nope. did you think about your mom then, jen?

What was your best month?
March and April in Maui were wonderful. It was hard to leave. October with family, happy fun time

Make new friends?
many as well. all my maui homies. joe's posse from clark, my mcs coworkers. and kev's gf, amanda

Favorite Night out?
basically every bonfire at kam III. the bachlorette party in NYC, my b-day was surprisingly awesome for just bumming around m-town

Other than home, where did you spend most of your time?
beach, outback, moore center, in my car driving cross-country, panera studying for the freakin GRE's.

Have you lost any friends this year?
like, behind the couch? yea, kinda i guess. i lost touch with some japan folks, and yes, there was some growing apart. to be expected

Change your hairstyle?
yup

Have any car accidents?
nope

How old did/do you turn this year?
23.

Do you have a New Years resolution?
how about- get a job, get into grad school, do not file for unemployment benefits. they're all kind of related.

Do anything embarrassing?
i'm sure

Buy anything new from eBay?
a present for joe- the wagamama cookbook :D

Get married or divorced?
Nope.

Get arrested?
Nooooo

Been snowboarding?
i didn't even see snow this year

Did you get sick this year?
oh yes. nothing too bad though. the best cure for a health-insurance-less sick person is sitting on the floor of a hot shower. helps severe migraines through hangovers.

Are you happy to see 2008 go?
it was kind of a jumbled frankenstein-year. just different goals and events slapped together. i'm missing seasons, and there are no more semesters and breaks to mentally organize it. in the essay of my life, 2008 will be a series of transition sentences with some fun yet poignant anecdotes

What are you looking forward to most in 2009?
oh jeez. i will find out in march if i get into school- that will determine my next stratagem. i am looking forward to exploring this new area i live in- including snow boarding in tahoe, hiking yosemite, sonoma wine country, monterey ocean awesomeness, and getting to spend time with family in the area.
and trey graduating will be great, i hope he gets into the school he wants
