Also, as of 10 am this morning, all my materials have been submitted for consideration for the Masters in English, Creative Writing program at UCDavis.

so, kind of taking a risk and hoping this works out. I feel like a have a fighting chance though. good scores, lovely recommendations, published writing sample and a weird random personal background.
but, you never know. they do give preference to CA people, and I am only half a CA person. buuut sometimes schools want vary their community by adding people from other places. NH is pretty far away. but, so is bangladesh
also, anthony bordain writes some interesting short stories.
