Hi Michael, I'm glad you found the conference valuable and managed to get your voice heard. I agree with allowing people to remain in the communities they chose, Gentrification in my book is a dirty word. on the other hand, there needs to be a widening of communities to abolish exclusivity and allow a flow of people, ideas and skills throughout society. The intervention by white Australian governments and the supposed 'rescue' of aboriginal people is an interesting, if not infuriating, subject. I love the way life likes to intertwine itself sometimes; we have jsut finished studying this in one of my classes and I'm working on a major essay on the Australian identity and how we are perhaps not multicultural at all.
As for publishing the paper, congratulations and power to you. I never have objections to you or Peter 'using' me in furthering the agenda of the Clemente program because it is an agenda that, for the most part, I support. I also know that you handle the matter with respect and sensitivity without being condescending. I would though, like to read the paper. Not so much to vet it, but for my interest in the subject and how you approached it.
