I got my smutty_claus gift and it's art! Not worksafe, red headed, gorgeous, naughty, incestuous art!!!! I've a thing for Weasleycest, I just can't help myself. It's got to be the red hair thing, but really, they shouldn't all be so enticing. It's their fault, not mine ( Read more... )

I am! But I'm not getting notifications for comments. Is that lj telling me it hates me and hates that I'm back? I'm fairly sure it is.

How are you, hon?

I'm ok. I am done school! And have a job! I do some MS research for the Canadian Collaborative Project on MS. We are looking at a/the genetic component to it, so I genotype samples of affected patients and their affected and unaffected family members. I am not sure if it's what I want to do forever, but it's good for right now. I must admit though...I miss having, like, a month off for Christmas. I expect I will feel the same when summer hits, since I used to have four months off then.

My comment notification is sort of hit and miss as well. Maybe it's just being a jerkface.

Congrats on your graduation and on your job!!! And I think that what you've chosen to do is brilliant! Has a particular gene that causes MS been identified? Pardon me if that is ignorant, but I don't know tons about the disease and wasn't sure at all.

I'm just now getting them. Obviously. *glares at it*

Yes and no. There is evidence that there may be some genes that may play a role in it - we are looking at HLA DRB1 gene right now, which is a cell surface receptor. It's not like a "If you have this/these genes you will get MS" kind of thing, but there's evidence that they may play a role.

No worries about sounding ignorant, I don't know a whole lot about it either, really.
