Wow! I am so happy and proud.
I saw Barack Obama in person back in Nov 2006, and I knew then that he would go far, but even in my heart I still had the sneaking feeling that 'something' was going to prevent the US from electing a black man as president. I am so overwhelmed and overjoyed that WE as a nation have done it. Race didn't enter in to the campaign, but every black person in America, I am sure had the feeling that somehow the land's highest office was unattainable, we wanted to hope and believe but there always seemed to be a roadblock on our upward climb, not anymore. Barack tried to keep his campaign about the issues no matter what was thrown out there about him, and he ran a very good camp. in that respect. As blacks in America after being enslaved, and treated as chattel to finally have reached the highest office is a great feat! And the way it has been done was great as well. Barack, included all peoples in his campaign for the White House and recognized that we as a country needed healing on all fronts. This is a great step towards that. He has brought us all together to fight for our country, economy, and overall well being. For America to have come together and voted Barack Obama in to the Presidency shows that we are finally seeing beyond race and actually voting for the MAN we feel will best serve.
I want to get up and dance and sing and shout and have fun in the victory. We have a long road ahead of us but we will get our country back on track.
OBAMA 2008 YES WE CAN! and YES WE DID!
FIRED UP AND READY TO GO!!
