Not Enough Room for Adult Sized Vomiting

Hello friend.

Yesterday's concert was one of the best ones I've been to in a long time. The groups Kiddo, Brazil, and Atom and His Package played at the Grog. I went with Aaron, Amanda, Dustin, Lindy and Amy--many others were supposed to come but cancelled at the last minute. I really enjoyed Kiddo, they had a nice melodic kid-punk sound. However, Brazil was just terrible; they had 6 members in their band, four of which played guitar. I'm sorry, but something about four different guitar players all bouncing mindlessly around and playing out of sync just bothers me. Every once in awhile they would come across a good sound that broke the cacophony, but that was pretty sparse. Finally, Atom and His Package played. I've never been to an Atom show before and I must say that he is great live. He actually explains the backgrounds to his songs. My favorite from the night would have to be his Grandma song--Grandma lets get married. Here are some tips for having a good time at a concert.

1. Jostle about arrythmatically to sound of music - this tends to enhance the experience by making you literally feel like you are actually going along with the beat instead of looking stupid.
2. Bring a sandwich - you may tend to get a little famished after all the jostling.
3. Do not share said sandwich with guy with more than 3 facial piercings - no matter how friendly he may seem.
4. Always remember, if you have to vomit do so in designated urinal, sink, or trash recepticle.
5. Spend enormous amount on all merchandise from cd's, to shirts, to $4 insignia stickers - you are not cool otherwise.
6. Yell out random cliches like "You guys rock" and "Woooooo!" during the middle of a song. This displays your appreciation of the band's musical talent and the fact that you are a complete tool.
7. Put forth your best effort to approach the band members after they play and then blank on saying anything more than "I really liked the show." If you see them at a future show, be sure to ask them if they remember you.
8. Boost self confidence by making fun of other people in the room - this works in other situations as well.
9. Remove head from ass, it's easier to hear the music that way.

Have fun with those.
