[He's a broken Ventus Aqua. Broken and twisted around by his own other half - But he's still Ventus, and for a second, that shines through -] But... Why didn't you find me? I waited. I hoped. I cried and fought to ge----

[ - and then it's gone with a viscous headshake. Unwilling and unable to accept what she's saying. Accepting it means accepting what he knows in that buried part of him, that his sanity anchor and the one person that he can trust - is a monster and that Vanitas was deliberately keeping him in the darkness - that what he's suffered though was a game and that Vanitas was trying to break him.

Ventus knows this, but accepting it and continuing down this trail will mean opening up parts of himself that he's kept closed. Opening up a Pandora's box on what he really thinks and feels; not what he's deluded himself into accepting. What hope there is in him is shoved down, down and sat on.

It's better this way. He knows what will happen, intimately, the moment he starts to hope that he'll find away out from the monster. It'll be crushed, the same as if he even thinks of believing in her - trusting her.

A rub of his wrists and he's looking away.] -- I s-shouldn't b-be talking to you. He'll be mad when he comes - e-even i-if you are l-like Roxas.

[Take that as you will, but he means 'share a face with his Aqua'.]

["Like Roxas"? That just furthers her suspicions on this Ven being a different Ven. Something in her still snarls protectively at the idea that Vanitas has been hurting him -- she'll destroy him if he ever comes to this tower -- but this isn't her Ventus.

With that in mind, she tries to sound as patient as she can while she talks to him.] I don't know why no one ever found you, Ventus. Vanitas probably took you some place far away, where it would be hard for anyone to rescue you.

...I really don't think I'm the Aqua that you know. But, for what it's worth, I wouldn't have stopped looking until I found you. No matter where you were. And your Aqua would have done the same thing, if she's anything like me.

[She has a feeling she knows who Ventus means by "he". It's more the "when" that alarms her. If he comes, she'll kill him. Like she should have been able to do all those other times. A decade is a long time, and she's gotten much stronger. Monster or not, he won't stand a chance.]

...you should go, if you really need to. But...if you ever need help, you know where I am. [Aqua looks sad as she makes this offer, but her voice is heartfelt and the offer sincere.] Okay?
