They are, but hey, at least they're related to the platypus? The funky memorable member of the animal kingdom. Not that I think you're funky. Maybe memorable. Okay I'm just going to stop now.
Kitchen might be nice - get my oatmeal out of the way and everything. If the library's any good you might have to pry me out with physical force, so maybe we should leave that to the end.

As someone who got called funky as an insult in high school, I think I'll stick with the other definitions here.

[And sure enough, out by the staircase Echidna would be there, rocking back and forth on her heels and wearing one of her ridiculously colored coats. Once she spotted someone with red hair, she'd give an energetic and spazztic excited wave.]

[She jumped over the last two steps and landed on the ground of the first floor, holding out her arm to gesture to the cafeteria] Ta da! Here we are~! The kitchen's right over there. I'm pretty sure you can just take stuff, or at least that's what I do.

Way less depressing to be kidnapped and trapped in a tower in another dimension when someone actually laughs at my spooky voices.
