[Phone Call to Reeve on Cloud's Phone]motherkn0wsbestFebruary 22 2009, 18:02:30 UTC
After staring at the device for more than a few minutes after it had done that strange vibration and annoying ringing, Jenova looked around for a mind to read about what to do with such an event. Shaking the phone up and down had no effect, but there was little music and words on the screen saying that a new message was available. Humans always had to make things ineffectively difficult; they needed to be cleansed from this planet

[After having that little chat with Yuffie, Reeve was very curious when he pulled out his ringing phone to see Cloud's number. It could be relief, but he still could not shake off that damned feeling. Flicking it open he answered with his normal baritone]
Reeve speaking.
I hope I was interrupting anything earlier, Cloud...
[ooc: Just going off to watch a film but ._. oh man thank you for writing that response. An alien's lack of knowledge re: human technology should be funny, not that creepy :o]
Re: [Phone response]motherkn0wsbestFebruary 22 2009, 18:16:27 UTC
When the line connected, Jenova thankfully had the phone in the right position to receive the words. They came through clear, but her own manner of communicating seemed far more superior. Still... it would keep the army from coming.
Using Cloud's voice, Jenova simply said, "sorry... I had to pull over first. What do you need?"
[Phone response]animus_inspireFebruary 22 2009, 20:09:35 UTC
[There was no need to doubt it was Cloud, though odd it was that he was asking Reeve what he needed... usually it was polite small talk between them when not speaking via Cait Sith, but given recent times he and Cloud always seemed somehow to understand the other, silently, regardless. Perhaps he is just suspicious because of Yuffie words but the Commissioner takes to a cautious response nonetheless]
Still riding then, huh? I take it the delivery business has picked up again then. [a light chuckle but it sounds empty] I don't need anything, Cloud... we were just wondering how you were.
Re: [Phone response]motherkn0wsbestFebruary 22 2009, 21:07:19 UTC
Waiting silently for Reeve to proceed, Jenova tilted her to head the side. She hadn't dealt extensively with Reeve before, but he was an ex-ShinRa executive. They all basically worked the same, so it would be fairly easy to sniff out his weaknesses.
"Yeah," she said simply in the same male voice. "Trying to take it up again... keep my mind off things." Oh, so the ninja might have blown things? It had been amusing nonetheless. "I'm..." there was a pause, "alright. You?"
[Phone response]animus_inspireFebruary 22 2009, 21:47:29 UTC
[Reeve was hardly alike to the other ShinRa executives, in fact all the other executives bar Veld, and perhaps Jack himself, saw in him weakness, where in fact it was genuine feeling. Such a man successfully survived betrayals that normally spelled death, such a man forged alliances with the Turks, with Avalanche and people in between.
Yet, it was easy to affect him, and Jenova surely did not have to sniff out too hard for that.
Ah, but this sounds a little more like the Cloud he knows
Yes, I have been wondering how you have been since we... last spoke. [A pause, still reluctant, still can't shake that damn feeling]
We should meet again sometime. If not, Cait has said he has to see you and won't take no for an answer.
Re: [Phone response]motherkn0wsbestFebruary 22 2009, 21:58:54 UTC
It took pressing into Cloud's unconscious mind to seek the answer as to the last time that these two had crossed paths. Ah, during that wonderful moment, was it? Jenova had wanted to return there and enjoy the blood rain a little more, but it seemed that AVALANCHE had to always stick their nose into such matters. Was it even AVALANCHE anymore? No matter.
"Ah yeah..." she said simply, using Cloud's avoidance of sore topics to the full extent. "Going fine."
Yes, that would be wonderful, she thought. The last thing that she wanted was for a robot to be tracking Cloud down before matters had been resolved. "I don't mind. When?"
[Phone response]animus_inspireFebruary 22 2009, 22:12:58 UTC
[The massacre report to the WRO detailing the blood and insane butchery of innocent life had left Reeve reeling. Vomiting was a natural physical reaction that alleviated the sick knot in a stomach, but ridding the mind of the mental imagery was not such an easy task.
But then Cloud never was one to speak of such things, even to confide in a friend for fear of weakness, or of concerning others. Neither was Reeve one to speak of such things, for similar reasons]
Hmm. Glad to hear it.
As for meeting... well I'm not in Edge at the moment but I should be returning tomorrow.
[Perhaps he shouldn't have said that, but this was sounding more like Cloud, and really this damn feeling he just can't shake could be anything.
..He really needed to speak to Yuffie to ascertain further.]
Re: [Phone response]motherkn0wsbestFebruary 22 2009, 22:21:52 UTC
Not in Edge at the moment? Well, that was interesting information, and something she could do well to know more about. Now, where would an ex-Executive run off to beyond the grand city walls?
Softly grunting down the phone line, Jenova considered what to say and eventually decided on saying nothing at all. Cloud would not elaborate on such unpleasant subjects after all. Avoidance was the best policy.
"Vacation?" Apparently that would never happen, but it might prompt reasoning. "Got a couple of deliveries tomorrow. Anything after that?"
[Phone response]animus_inspireFebruary 23 2009, 11:32:02 UTC
[There was a pause in response to the grunt, then a small noise of recognition. Yes, this was more like the method and flow of their usual conversation. This was a Cloud he recognised. Honestly, Reeve, you can get a bit too paranoid sometimes...
Still, ever cautious as much as Cait Sith manifests curious, Reeve admits very little.]
Mmm, not really. I think the last time I had a vacation was when I was still an Executive. Heh.
Ah. [Sounds like business really has picked up...] Of course, whenever is convenient. Just let me know, Cloud.
[He pauses, debating raising the subject of Shelke] ...Actually, there is one thing you may be able to help me with?
Re: [Phone response]motherkn0wsbestFebruary 23 2009, 18:49:00 UTC
"You should take one," Jenova said simply. That was something that friends said to one another, so it was best to get it out now. Besides, having Reeve out of the way would be convenient for any attack that happened on ShinRa. Vacation would be a good excuse to have him out of town for awhile.
"I will. Maybe lunch or something," she said and then leaned back against the wall. This phone business was so inconvenient. She couldn't even push or fish around for information with this pointless device.
At the leading question, Jenova smirked but didn't allow it to show in her voice. "Yeah?"
