The last of the Megamorphs. Jake is offered a deal by Crayak. He can turn back time to that fateful night. Jake and his friends can take another way home instead of cutting through the construction site. The Animorphs can see what would have happened if their lives hadn't become endless fighting.
But as you might expect, things quickly begin to get weird even still. They still find out about the Yeerks. Tobias becomes a controller and never joins them. And as we near the end, things start to fall apart. Literally.
I like how there is a sort of question left at the end as to which was the better timeline. In the altered one, things would have ended faster. BUT more people would have died, including all the Animorphs. The regular timeline means things go on longer, but I don't think quite as many people ultimately died. So I guess the altered timeline wouldn't have been a good way to go.
I recall last time around that some people said they didn't like Cassie's anomaly thing, they thought it was too Mary Sue or something along that line.
