I Have a Problem

Dec 31, 2008 20:06

This is what I bought today.

Soaps were buy one, get two free as were holiday bath bombs. We'll start with those.

Bath bombs
Mr. Butterball bath bomb
A vanilla sweet tonic for over-dry holiday skin
This charming snowman is a soothing bath bomb. He melts pieces of cocoa butter into the bathwater to moisturize and soften your whole body. A classic way to get children into the bath when they've been watching too many cartoons, eaten too much chocolate and are all too excited about the holidays. (Same goes for adults.)

Lush Pud bath bomb
A spicy almond pudding for the bath
LUSH Pud is best served with a bath of warm water the morning after a large dinner and late celebrations. It warms up a shivering body with powdered cloves and calms a tired mind with rose and cassie. For a really relaxing, restorative bath, serve daily.

Twinkle Star bath bomb
Shimmery, sultry and scented with strawberries & cream
We are delighted to see the return of the Twinkle! It was a best-seller last year. This year it has metamorphosed into the shape of a star. How appropriate. Yes, it does twinkle with tiny golden shimmers, but don't worry, Twinkle is ever so subtle in its approach. Its scent is a different matter; it fills your bathroom, home and entire life with the intoxicatingly gorgeous scent of American Cream - strawberry, vanilla, orange milkshakes. To top up the scent and the sparkles for a night out, add a coating of Shimmy Shimmy sparkle bar.

Soaps
Mud Flats soap
Earthy rosemary soap purifies like only a mud bath can
Take a little bit of mud, add a pinch of lavender, a sprig of rosemary and lather up. Like a purification ceremony to start your day, washing with Mud Flats is cathartic, detoxifying and takes you to a whole new level of clean. A crisp, earthy aroma hits you the instant the water begins to flow; so let all your tension go and allow relaxation to set in.

Ooh La La soap
Lots of lavender to calm chaotic minds
When life pulls you in a million directions at once, run like mad and jump in the shower or tub. Lather up with this punchy purple soap, close your eyes and be transported to a French garden. Calm your frazzled nerves with sophisticated rosemary and thyme, but don't forget to giggle at the purple lather. If you've got the time, add A French Kiss bubble bar to the mix. Emerge sweet-smelling and ready to tackle the world again.

Rock Star soap
Sweet bubblegum soda pop soap strikes just the right chord
This best-selling, creamy soap delight may smell as sweet as sugar, but it's still just a little bit naughty; you know how rock stars are. So lather up, smile for the camera, then party all night long. Warning: This vanilla-berry handmade wonder has been known to increase singing in the shower so be careful who you give it to!

Now, here are the two packages I got:

Stardust

Mr. Butterball Bath Bomb (see above)

Twinkle Bath Ballistic
Shimmeringly lovely with a sexy scent
Yes, it does twinkle with tiny shimmers, but don’t worry, Twinkle is ever so subtle in its approach. The scent is a different matter; it fills your bathroom, home and entire life with the intoxicatingly gorgeous scent of American Cream - strawberry, vanilla, orange milkshakes. To top up the scent and the sparkles for a night out, add a coating of Shimmy Shimmy sparkle bar.

Christmas Morning bubble bar
Refresh yourself when you feel a right mess
Picture the scene: You're halfway through opening the presents, delighting at the pretty new gifts, anticipating the ones still to come, paper all over the place! That's the chaotic joy of Christmas morning and that's what we capture with our new Christmas Morning bubble bar, a scrumptious sugar bath bun rolled in confetti. Bright pink water, frothy bubbles and paper streamers with the scent of tangerines. Sandalwood keeps you calm and neroli stops all your worrying. Have one of these before a chaotic day or in the evening when it's time to recover.

Vanilla Fountain bath ballistic
Delicious vanilla crème brûlée satisfies sweet tooths
When Mo, LUSH founder and product creator extraordinaire, presents a new bath bomb at a team meeting, she fills a bowl with warm water, drops the bomb in, and then sends it around the room for everyone to smell. With Vanilla Fountain, no one wanted to let go of the bowl and pass it on. Its comforting vanilla scent comes from natural vanilla absolute (the posh stuff made from real vanilla pods) with a touch of restful sandalwood and a note of burnt caramel. Inspired by decadent French desserts, Vanilla Fountain makes a perfect post-meal bath. Indulge without guilt.

Snow Fairy shower gel
Sparkly pink, sweet-as-sugar shower gel for fluffy, fruity fairies
We thought that this cotton-candy scented, sparkly gel would be just the sweet surprise for small girls who like wearing party dresses and waving wands. Amazed we were when we found fully grown hairy men using it too. (They send other people off to buy it for them, but we know!) It's a Christmas best seller and you know best! So she's back. Stock up before she flits off to Fairyland again.

Angels Delight Star Soap
Fruity seasonal special soap for angels and the rest of us. Once again, the Angel floats to earth for Christmas (but ours isn't planning to make any surprise announcements to innocent young virgins). Angels Delight soap is a translucent, glycerine soap in bright pink, with interestingly coloured celestial (soap) bodies and a scattering of stars. We're reliably informed by our customers that it smells of jelly beans; we actually put toning tangerine and orange essential oils in it to give it a heavenly, fruity scent.

Gritter bubble bar slice
Glittery vanilla and lavender prepare you for a night on the town
Flosty Gritter is a very sparkly "girls' night out" sort of bubble bar. Mix lavender essential oil with vanilla absolute and you get a surprisingly sexy fragrance. We put a load of it in Flosty Gritter to set you up for an evening out. The name? Noriko Miura, our beloved Japanese product developer, borrowed a pot filled with frosty glitter and labeled it Flosty Gritter. We couldn't resist.

Stardust bath ballistic
Delicate everlasting flower brings dreams to life
At LUSH, inspiration for new products comes from all over; the sparks for this one flew from a book. Set in a small English town in Victorian times, Neil Gaiman's Stardust is modern day fairy tale. The hero, Tristran, foolishly promises to retrieve a fallen star to win the heart of his frosty sweetheart, Victoria. We wondered what the shooting star, a living creature in the book, would smell like when he found her. With Stardust, her delicate skin, the magic that surrounds her, and the way she shimmers when she's happy are captured in the fragrance of everlasting flower, bergamot and violets.

Enchanted

Angel's Delight Star soap (see above)

Frothy the Snowman bath bomb
Liquorice and vanilla-scented bubbles for jolly bathing
Take a jolly, happy bath with our snowman bubble bar. This sweetie pie makes mounds of creamy liquorice and vanilla-scented foam to envelop you like a big, warm blanket in the tub. Rolled in coconut, he smells like a bit like liquorice allsorts, those very popular English candies. Have some fun with Frothy the Snowman before his bubbles fade away.

Magic bath bomb
Marjoram and rose conjure up vitality and prosperity
If we told you that there was a surprise inside this treasure, it wouldn't be a surprise any more, now would it? Magic is a 14-sided bomb that turns your bathwater a deep sapphire blue. Seen from the top, it's a hexagon, or ‘hex' bomb, with a blend of marjoram and rose in the shell to dissolve anxieties. Then, as the water changes color, basil and peppermint oils swirl into your tub to bring you growth, vitality and energy. When the sprig of parsley inside floats free, prosperity looms.

Snowdrops bath bomb
Astonishingly refreshing, head-clearing beauty
The head-clearing, reviving citrus scents of mandarin and grapefruit in this very seasonal bath bomb are enhanced with the added genius of a dash of peppermint to give you the most amazing, life-affirming bath ever to sneak up on you. This bathing sensation gives the slap in the face you need (metaphorically speaking of course). The bright colours of the other LUSH bath bombs might tempt you, but promise us that you won't miss out on the new Snowdrops bath with lovely big sugar crystals and iridescent sparkles.

Holiday bubble bar
Soothing magic potion with rose, carnation and tangerine
Bathe with this bewitchingly sparkly, ruby red beauty and wish for your heart's desire. According to yuletide tradition, you're supposed to find a tangerine at the bottom of your Christmas stocking, along with a couple of walnuts and a penny. How about a tangerine, rose and carnation-scented bubble bar instead? Holiday makes a deep pink-orange-colored bath topped with fragrant foam and turns even the hardest water to silky softness.

Let Them Eat Cake lip balm
For kissable lips as sweet as cake
Orange and lemons, currants and sultanas, vanilla, sherry and treacle. This must be the tastiest lip balm on the planet. As you can imagine it can be quite tricky for vegans to find lovely products, but at LUSH it's quite easy. Except in the lip balm department, where all our 2008 products were vegetarian but not vegan. Many of our vegan friends and co-workers have a great fondness for cake (vegan of course). So when Helen and Noriko blended our new vegan lip balm base, Helen decided to make it cake flavoured. So now everyone's quite happy.

Chocolate Santa bath bomb
Delicious orange and creamy chocolate
A Santa we can all believe in. At LUSH when we do chocolate, we use real cocoa absolute made from cocoa beans, not some mere chocolate flavouring. Believe us, this makes all the difference. With his blend of sweet vanilla, delectable mimosa and with a dash of skin soothing aloe vera, Chocolate Santa is this Yuletide's most luxurious of special treats.

My poor santa broke. :(

Candy Cane bubble bar
Sweet as candy and twice as bubbly
Making another popular comeback, our pink and white swirled stick of solid bubble bath brings froth and fragrant bubbles to your tub. It adds the soothing scent of vanilla to any Christmas stocking and makes your skin likably soft. Let's just repeat the annual warning: Do not eat it!

Finally, this is a photo of all the Lush stuff I have bought in the past two days. This is not including the items I bought online. Eep! The only saving grace is the good sale. Ever since I discovered Lush in January of this year (2008) I have been waiting for this sale event! Stocking up is a good thing.

I swear I will not step foot in a Lush store for at least one month...!

lush, shopping
