Remembering John Ritter as well as 9/11

Sep 11, 2011 18:04

It may seem like a insensitive thing to write about but I can't help it. I do honor the soldiers, children, civilians, firefighters and service men/women who died this day and in the sequential wars but I can't forget about one of my favorite actors who died on this day as well eight years ago: Sep 11, 2003.

The second anniversary of 9/11 was already harsh but to have one of my favorite actors die on the same day was just pain added on pain. There are certain days that I hope none of my family members or anyone dies on such as Adolf Hitler's birthday or the day the Oklahoma city bombing happened because it sort of makes honoring them uncomfortable at least in my opinion.

I don't want to feel bad celebrating one person's life over so many that died so needlessly. I just wanted to do this for myself because well I liked the guy and I wish I had met him when I had the chance.

John Ritter was a fun person who made me laugh in the roles he was in. Not just in Three's Company but also Problem Child which is a guilty pleasure, his guest star appearances on Scrubs and Law and Order, and being Clifford in PBS' show Clifford the big red dog. He seemed like a nice person from what his crew and TV specials have said and well I would like to honor him today as well. He had good comedic timing most of the time and when he played a serious role I was convinced that he could make a easy switch between the two roles

If the attacks hadn't happened on this day ten years ago then 9/11 would have been just another day and people have died on that day as well whether due to old age or accident or otherwise. Those who died separate from the events that happened in the World Trade Center, Pennsylvania, and The Pentagon are remembered by their family and friends and I am glad for that. It's a shame but it happened and their deaths should be counted as well for those who remember them. I don't know maybe I am out of line, all I wanted to do was honor a actor I liked on the anniversary of his death.

This doesn't mean I am abandoning those who died at the World Trade Center, The Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania. NO. I just wanted to make a special tribute to a actor I liked that I wished hadn't left so soon.

Thank you for laughs Mr. Ritter and to those who are remembering loved ones who died ten years ago to this day that were not involved in the attacks then I hope you can celebrate without guilt. I honor everyone man, woman, child who had suffered that day and the soldiers who continue to fight in the Middle East and the soldiers who had to return home due to getting serious injuries but still fought for their country.

Mr. Ritter I continue to miss you greatly.
