Scarred I bought something known as the "Double Barrel Collection 1" from this series last night at Best Buy. Originally the series was available in twelve seperate DVDs with the option of two boxed sets, but it seems like ADV is re-releasing them all in two DVD packs. All I know is what I could have paid around $360 for twelve DVDs at Suncoast I can now (overtime) pay $120 at Best Buy for twelve DVDs in six cases - saves me both money and precious space on my DVD rack.
At any rate, I saw something I wish I didn't see last night. As many of you do yourselves, I enjoy the mall (though I usually have to go alone). While I was in target, I was curious to see what they were selling their Miyuzaki films for and saw two little girls oogling over some of the Anime. I kinda smiled and said "yeah, those are all good series" in more words or less and then started to walk away when this guy (probably a dad or step dad) berates one of them, grabs her, and smacks her - and I don't mean a light slap on the butt or anything (that's why spanking is so humane - I'm not trying to sound funny or anything, but between muscles and fat cells located on the butt it's one of the best cushioned places on the body and, when hit, usually only stings for a little bit). He hit her, and from the angle I saw this at he hit her fairly hard, too. I didn't see where he hit her, but it looks like it might've been her head or face from the direction he came from.
I felt SO BAD for a long time after that like it was my fault, but after talking to a few people (including my folks, a Suncoast worker, and a Best Buy cashier) who all agreed it wasn't my fault I felt better but couldn't stop thinking about it for a long time. Some people make me sick.
