Costco is back!
They recently built a Costco store in Tallahassee, so we now have a choice between it and Sams Club. We were members of Sams in the 90s and Costco for 5 years out in Washington. We joined Sams again when we moved back to Tallahassee because its all there was. Now with a choice and our renewal up we decided to compare the stores. The prices are similar, but the Costco selection was superior so we decided to switch back.
Went down tonight and paid the $50 membership fee for one year. Then went shopping. On the first trip between food and some DVD box sets we had been planning on buying, we saved $42. So we are almost even after one trip. If you compare the box set prices not against on-line prices but instead against local retailers (best buy, etc.) we actually saved more like $70.
In any case looks like we have two cool box sets to watch ...
