Another good evening ...
Spent the day debugging performance issues in code. I think I found a way to improve performance, but in order to prove it I have to fix another issue in the same code base. So it will be next week before I know if I have it licked or not.
Tonight has been a laze around the house kind of evening. Dinner together and some more Lego Star Wars. Need to go to bed a bit earlier than normal for a Friday night though. We are volunteering at the Second Harvest food bank tomorrow morning. We are supposed to help sort cans that people have donated (ourselves among them). We donate to the food bank almost every week. It will be interesting to see where the food goes after it's put in the bin.
In addition to people volunteering we were suppose to collect a bunch of food at work as well. Unfortunately when I went by to see what had been collected there was nothing there. So I stopped off at the grocery store tonight on the way home to buy some food to donate. The thing I like about shopping at Publix is that they are always running buy one get one free specials. I was able to get 4 jars of peanut butter for the price of two, 2 boxes of cereal, 4 boxes of fruit cups, etc. Yes its limiting to only buy what's on sale two for one, but it allows us to buy good food and have our money go twice as far. I got almost $30 worth of free food tonight! You can't shake a stick at that!
Anyway I hope tomorrow will be a good experience. Maybe we will do it again sometime.
