Comet Camp

Okay, Comet Camp... where to start... It was REALLY fun. Hotter than HELL, but fun. ^^

We all got up EARLY Friday morning to catch the buses (at 9 am) to go to Camp Hoblitzelle, which is on the south side of Dallas in a city called Midlothian. Sounds like the name of a place in a video game, right? ^^ Well we got there, and unpacked and stuff, and it was rather interesting. The dorms (at least the ones like the one I was in) weren't really air conditioned, but kinda were... they had a large number of bugs though. >_< I was okay with all the crickets, but some people weren't. heh heh...

We all ended up split up into four teams, Red (mine), Yellow, Green, and Blue. My roommate Jerrica was on the Green team. We had a series of competitions, such as Homerun Derby (which I participated in), Ultimate Frisbee, and Soccer, as well as some inside things like Hearts, Spades, Super Smash Bros. and others. We actually did Basketball, Volleyball, Tug-of-War and a relay on the second day. Tug-of-War was a bitch. >_< We had to play the same team twice because the judges messed up on where the Yellow team had to stand. *rolls eyes* But we won both times, so it was alright. ^^

They had a pool at the camp, and it was about the nicest thing there. (They also had stables, but we weren't allowed to ride, or else THAT would have been the best thing there.) It was really cool and nice and just so relaxing... The guys (and some of the girls) also had diving contests at the end. Mihai is really good at flips and stuff! And Devon was hilarious watching him learn to dive. I did end up pulling a muscle while swimming >_< so I had to pull out of Basketball the next day, but it was okay cuz my spot ended up being extra anyways. (Five people signed up, but it ended up as a three-on-three game.) Red team won the first day, but we ended up being in second place overall. *shrugs* Oh well. We had more spirit than any of the other teams, so it was okay.

Oh Ana... your chant was so funny. ^^ "Red, red, red for blood! Blood, blood, blood to spill! Red for blood! Blood to spill! KILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yes.

KILL! *shouts* (Okay, okay, so I got a little enthusiastic about the KILL too. >_> But it was FUN! And totally meant in a joking, yet enthusiatically team spirited, way.)

I did get to meet a LOT of new friends at Comet Camp though. Like Sara (who's "sexual") and Jenna (who is an awesome artist, and is just as crazy as I am), and Sally (who's totally too cool, and is SOOOO nice), and Stephanie (who can belly dance and, even from a straight girl POV, make it look very hot), and Chris (who's cool, likes music, plays saxophone, and sings), and Shelton (who likes music and was cool to hang out with), and Brittney (who's also a former guard member), and the other Brittney (who's really nice and cool to talk with), and Amanda (who is really nice and enthusiastic, and also in my building) and... and... dang... I'm gonna stop now. There were a few people also there that I had met before hand (Michael, Sara (another one), Megan, John and others) but I'm just gonna stop cuz that sentence is WAY too long. ^^

It was really a whole lot of fun, and we all got really close and enjoyed the time there. The food was good, the weather was hot, and the stars were bright at night (*clap clap clap clap* DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS! >_>), and it was just generally a really cool trip. I'm not sure if I'd do it again (as an OTM), but I'd DEFINTIELY suggest it for incoming freshman. It's a really good experience. And there aren't THAT many misquitoes.

Well, I keep being reminded of things I left off about Comet Camp, but I'm not gonna worry about 'em. The whole trip was a lot of fun, but I'm glad to be back in my apartment (with my a/c, and my computer, and my faulty internet, and my cold drinks, and my non-infested bed.........) finally. ^^

Well, I'm gonna go now. Got some stuff to do, and I'm gonna go read some more fanfiction. ^^ Yay!!!!!

KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
