Ah, the exam wasn't too bad. Actually, it was...kind of easy don't look at me like that, I'm not gloating...
I've just always had an easy time with things centered around reading, is all. I remember in elementary school, they'd give us tests in these grey booklets. They usually were about the works we read in the latest chapter in the textbook, or about the grammar points we'd been going over, and I remember always getting A's on them. ALWAYS. And it was always a treat for me to take them, because they were easy for me.
I've usually enjoyed what I've read for school, too, novel-wise...unless it's something particularly dreadful. Like Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant. DEAR GOD, if you wanna gut yourself after reading something, this is perfect. Even though I say I hate To The Lighthouse, it wasn't nearly as bad as that. Oh God, or Their Eyes Were Watching God, or Death of a Salesman. And The Little Prince? Depressing as all hell. Ick, ick, ick...
What I have liked are...hm...Bunnicula (yes, we read it in 3rd grade, and I still love it now), The BFG, Among the Hidden, Little House in the Big Woods, To Kill A Mockingbird, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Great Gatsby, A Streetcar Named Desire...the list kinda just goes on.
In fact, there's a lot of other books I've read outside of school. Heidi, The Secret Garden, Anne of Green Gables, a lot of the other Little House books, some Animorphs books, A Little Princess, Diary of Anne Frank...that last one I found and read in my 4th grade classroom. Ever wonder what it's like to ask your mother what the Holocaust is while you're driving back from a therapist meeting? Yeah, that was interesting.
Gosh...I guess I was meant for a career in books before I even knew it...
But yeah, now I'm wondering...what kind of books do you like to read?
