why Fullmetal Alchemist?
I don't get it.
I was at Alcatraz, being miserable because I hate tourist traps AND I loathe places like that (which is only a smidge ironic, since I'm the one who wanted to go), and there's a chick behind me with a Fullmetal Alchemist FANNY PACK.
A FANNY PACK Please. WTF?
Although I liked FMA the manga, the animated series + movie are TERRIBLE abominations of the manga, and its manglers should be brought before a court of their fans and harangued for their crimes. I mean, jeeez.
So, I totally DON'T get it. I understand it's uber-popular right now because the movie was an awesome ending to the show (which isn't surprising, since the SHOW BLEW!! It BLEW HERDS OF GOATS!!!) and everything about the movie was just great (for what it was), but STILL... WHY IS IT SO POPULAR??
To add to my annoyance, at YAOIcon, people were dressed as MOVIE-VERSION Ed/Al/Roy.
I don't get it. What did I miss about this anime? I know Ed and Al are awesome, but I stopped once they got back from the island their master stuck them on. No patience for such HUGE deviations. Purist mentality, I know, but not my intentions.
Um, tomorrow is more Japantown (mochi hunt bi bim bap) and Castro Street. Tattoos will be eyed as I am considering a NEW one. :: nods happily::
Chibinasu and I just had dinner in a CUTE restaurant called "Johnny Rocketts" where a fellow in a paper hat gave us little bowls of ketchup he squirted in the shape of a happy face. The malt was good too. Chibinasu forced me to go because I wasn't really hungry. Food is currently NOT my friend.
