Prologue Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Day 27 of 31.
They've done it. They've finished the songs.
The realization came slowly to the idol and composer, that they even started staring at nothing while sitting at the sofa this afternoon that they've accomplished their task.
"We've done it Junsu, we really have" Yoochun started smiling at a dazed Junsu.
"Yeah, we really did..."
It dawned on Junsu that as the days passed, he grew more reluctant to finish....reluctant for everything to end...reluctant to be separated from Yoochun.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing...I guess I'll call your manager so we can notify him."
"Alright."
~.~.~.~.~.
"What'd manager-hyung say?"
"He says he'd pick us up tomorrow."
"Yes! Freedom at last~"
Junsu frowned. It seemed as if he was the only one sad about that. Well, what can he expect?
"Junsu, are you sure you're okay?"
Calm down.
"Junsu...come on, smile! We can finally leave Jeju," Junsu clenched his fists tighter.
Calm down.
Junsu took a breath.
"Shouldn't you be happy that we finished early?"
"Well you certainly seem very happy about it!"
Junsu fumed, as Yoochun looked at him with wide eyes.
Junsu ran to his room.
~.~.~.~.~.
'Tomorrow' came very quickly. Too quickly.
Yoochun and Junsu were in the car, side by side, on the way back to Seoul.
"Here." The manager gave them their tickets.
"You each have backstage passes so that you can meet Seungri right after."
Oh the awkward silence.
"Junsu, I'm sorry about last night, I---"
"Forgiven."
"I didn't mean..."
"I get it."
"Well, I hope we can work together again ne---"
"I don't think so. You can compose even without my help. You really improved."
Yoochun was dumbfounded.
Junsu looked outside.
How can this happen?
He never expected to fall so badly in such a short time. It was unbelievable.
He remembered that ever since they agreed to help each other out, Yoochun's attitude towards him immensely changed.
Yoochun became more gentle, he became much more of a friend...he grew kinder, and much much more.
Whenever Yoochun touched his hand, it felt so much warmer.
Whenever Yoochun smiled at him, the world seemed brighter.
Whenever Yoochun laughed with him, it felt like paradise.
Whenever Junsu's heart skipped a beat at Yoochun's actions, it pained him a little. He knew he wasn't supposed to feel this way.
~.~.~.~.~.
The fan chanting deafened them a bit. Yoochun sat at Junsu's left, wondering why, why isn't Junsu his cheerful self?
Why isn't Junsu smiling so proudly at his idol, Seungri?
Before he can think more, their song, the song that all three of them worked on, started.
"In my world
In a place not visible
Needing air to live" Seungri sang, pressing on the piano keys sincerely.
Yoochun looked at Junsu, and he was relieved that Junsu was smiling---even if it didn't reach his eyes.
"Turning a blind eye to the day, I'm born again...
In my world
I'll hold and protect you."
The fans cheered and cheered.
"Thank you everyone for being here today, I won't be singing here if it weren't for you guys."
The fans clapped and shouted.
"I also thank all the people who helped me in the making of this concert and album, especially those who helped me compose my songs. The song you just heard was composed by me, and Micky Park, who's sitting over there."
Wait...what? Where was Junsu's credit in all this?
Yoochun waved back politely at Seungri, and quickly held Junsu's hand before he can run out.
"Yoochun, let go..." the sadness in the usually cheerful boy pierced Yoochun's heart.
"No Junsu, you have the right to be credited for all the work you did for him."
As Seungri sang the last song, Yoochun pulled Junsu backstage.
They waited as Seungri reached his dressing room.
"Yah, why didn't you mention Junsu? He deserves some credit too!"
Seungri laughed.
"Don't you understand Yoochun? That song is about us!"
"What?"
"So let's fly, Just you and I. That was for me and you. Would you look at me now, I'm standing right here. Those lyrics were directed to you! Besides, I erased the part that Junsu wrote, it was just plain ugly."
Yoochun looked at a shocked Junsu, who shed a lonely tear.
Junsu, not being able to take anymore, exited the room.
"Junsu!" Yoochun started, until Seungri blocked him.
"Let him be Yoochun! He just stands between us!"
"You!"
Yoochun never felt this angry, that his fist found way to reach Seungri's face.
"You used Junsu! Didn't you know how much he looked up to you?! Don't you dare appear before me again, or i'll have to beat you up more than that."
Yoochun then started to look for Junsu outside.
Part 6//"Junsu caged his heart protectively...fearfully."
