Back from Europe!!
I absolutely loved Europe! I think i've already said that but w/e u have 2 hear it again!! I promised i'd say wut happened in the trip so here goes!! I have 2 revise it a bit so it isn't this doesn't go into detail. I went to Madrid first for bout 5-6 days. I went walking arounf the whole city buying cute stuff in little stores n in "El Corte Ingles". If u ppl have been to Spain then u'll no wut "El Corte Ingles" is if u haven't it's the equivalent of a shopping mall but way smaller. The food was the best (of course, Spanish food is the greatest!!). I went to the Amusement Park there ("Parque de Attractiones"), nothing beats Islands of Adventure but it was okay. The day b4 i left was the day of the London bombings, we were so freaked out n relieved that we had decided not 2 go 2 London.
After walking half Madrid n riding half the Metro, we went to Barcelona. Oh yea, there was 6 of us going in the trip (My mom, dad, aunt, cousin, n grandma) n a ton of luggage (groans in agony). Barcelona is my other favorite place!! We got 2 see some of my family's friends that live there n their new baby that was born a couple months ago (so cute!!! ^_^). I walked all "La Rambla", that was really...interesting. There were restaurants on either side n did any1 no that their was a Hard Rock in Barcelona? I didn't until i heard pounding music coming out from a building packed w/ ppl.
We stayed 3 days there n then the cruise started!! YAY!! U should have seen me the day we left to the cruise i seriously was zooming everywhere n screaming (in Spanish lol) "We're going on the cruise! We're going on the cruise!". That was the funniest thing ever!
The first stop is Villefranche-sur-mer. It's on the Cote D'Azure (Blue Coast) in France. I actually took a tour from there 2 Nice n a little city called St. Paul de Vence. My family n i were going 2 go 2 Monaco but Prince Albert decided 2 be coronated on that day! DANG IT!!! Oh well both Nice n St. Paul were really pretty. I did have some problem w/ the language. I no french but they talk a bit 2 fast. I got lost like 3 times n had 2 tell them 2 repeat wut they were saying. My french teacher would've killed me if she found out the amount of words that i completely 4got. It's one thing 2 take classes n another 2 put it to use. I don't get much practice here.
Next was Florence n Pisa. I bout 1/2 the stuff that Bodziony was talking bout in class in Florence. I saw the Michelangelo's "David" n a dozen of pantings n sculptures from Giotto, Ghilberti, Michelangelo, etc. Florence wasn't my favorite city. Pisa has only 1 thing 2 see, the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Actually everything around the tower is leaning but not as much as the tower. I have half a dozen pictures of the tower.
Next we go 2 Rome. Rome n the vatican were beautiful! There is just 2 much 2 see in Rome to see in one day! I was the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo's paintings r breathtaking. U seriously have 2 see them if u ever go 2 Rome. The Vatican museum n St. Peter's Basilica were jam packed! U could just bearly see anything. I did go 2 see the Colosseum n the Roman forum. The Colosseum is enormous! I bought another ton of stuff here as well.
The next place i went to was Corfu in Greece. It's a picturesque island of the coast of Greece. The Austria-Hungary Empress Elizabeth or also call Cici had a palace there. It's a really pretty island but i would have rather gone 2 Athens but it didn't pass by there.
After Corfu was Dubrovnik in Croatia (part of the old Yugoslavia). I got my Harry Potter book there!! Anywho half the city was destroyed in WWII but it still a very beautiful city.
The next 2 last city is Venice! I fell in love w/ this city! I bought myself a Venician mask (best of all, it survived the trip 2 Miami), they have a festival or carnival sort of like Mardi Gras in February. It lasts bout 2 weeks. I went on a gondola n i got 2 see Mozart's house when he lived in Venice. I went 2 the Piazza San Marco (the pigeons!!! lol there were pigeons everywhere!) The ship stayed in Venice 2 days so we had a lot of time 2 wander around the city n go into the boutiques.
The final city was Palermo, Sicily. We ate pizza n gelato there but by the time we got there we were so beat from the trip that we didn't see a whole lot of stuff.
There's the whole trip in a nut shell! If i had written down every detail it would take me a year! Even this is a pretty long summary! Oh well, I'm so going back 2 Europe in a few years! I'd 4gotten how much i loved it. Next time, though, i have 2 go 2 England. That is my all time favourite place. Oh yea i have pictures so ask if u want 2 see them. I don't no how 2 post them here if not i would have. 1 more thing, when i got back i was so used 2 talking in Spanish that i actually had trouble speaking in English!! Wow! If i say "Valé" (it means okay in spanish) please ignore me i'm just having a mental lapse. Well i've got 2 go n get sleep cause i'm still dead tired from yesterday. I'll write tomorrow or the day after.
