I just remembered... Monday is a day off! Woohoo! 3 day weekends mean lots of fun. I will likely end up playing a lot of Halo and Lost Odyssey.
Oddly enough, Lost Odyssey made a great difference in my life, with its little vignettes in the "One Thousand Years of Dreams" There is one story about a woman that at the end of every day gave thanks for getting the chance to live it. I like this idea, even if you don't believe in anything religious, because I think the more we take the time to be thankful for stuff, the more we appreciate things that we are lucky enough to have. And the most basic idea is that getting a chance to live a day is a miracle in and of itself, even though it doesn't seem like it sometimes. I have come to realize that life can be a fragile thing lately, and so by just being thankful I got another day of it makes me feel like I can enjoy whatever happens to me, no matter how mundane.
If that makes sense, I'm glad. If you think I'm retarded (all 2 of you that reads this) feel free to keep your mouth shut about it. It works for me, and I'm not asking anyone to take on what I believe. =P
But... 3 day weekend! I'll be bored probably, but oh well.
Halo last night, made me proud of me. Played 4 matches with Robert and his brother, with a friend of his brother's playing on his console- we won all 4, even though we just barely squeaked by on the last one. The first 3 I was the number 2 fighter on our team. The final one I was dead last but managed to get the last kill in to make us win 48-47. I hid behind a rock and was lucky enough to be run by a guy would was trying to kill a teammate. He didn't notice when I started running behind him with a shot gun and got him with 2 seconds left in the game. I died, but not before those 2 seconds went. I was proud, even though I only had 5 kills total. Then I played again after Comic Party watching and did pretty good in my 3 matches. The last one was against a bunch of folk that had over 1000 matches played, and I actually got 2nd place. I never expect to win those games, but I'll take being 2nd or 3rd.
