A victory with Vista!

Yay! By complete accident this morning I found out what was causing problems with sharing files on our home network. Apparently, it was Norton Internet Security's fault (which, I should not have realized) as it was blocking any traffic on the network from accessing my desktop computer. So, after giving her computer the full trust status, in Norton, suddenly things worked very well. This took about 10 minutes to iron out some problems (TVersity was making my computer appear as only a media source, not a computer, so that was deleted, computer restarted, and bam).

So after taking 4 full days of my life away from me, Vista is beginning to do what I need it to. Woot.

Now we can box up Amy's desktop computer, hook her monitor up to mine, and I will have a sweet set up.... ok, not sure if she'll be keen to that, but we'll hope. >.> Never was able to decipher where the weird smell was coming from off of her computer. But she said she's likely going to only use the laptop computer from now on. It would make the computer room a bit more spacious, I suppose, but it'd also feel a little weird to only have one computer in there. Eh...

Makes me wish I hadn't bought the extra desk for the room, but maybe I'll use one to put our spare tv on. =P
