I believe all the artbooks up until the new images I've seen from game 3 at animepaper have been anime based. From what I've heard, it's the same characters in season 1 & 2 as are in games 1 & 2 (they name the game & anime seasons the same for the same arcs & characters, so everything kind of blends together overall & there isn't much of a dividing line). Couldn't say more than that as I've never played the games & can't read Japanese. ^^;;
I believe I originally got the artbook over at la_corda_doro. Most of the game art usually either hasn't been in an artbook &/or has logos on it that I've seen. There's a few new images out for the characters in game 3, but they've never been seen in the anime thus far, so they kind of stand out.
I was just curious because the square shaped images, like this one, all resemble screens from otome games and I was further confused because the anime & manga style is so different but the artbooks all vaguely resembles the game art, just colored better. @-@;;
I'll take your word for it, I just wish there were an easier way to tell it all apart. Thanks for your help!
I've only ever seen them in reference to the anime seasons rather then the games, but it is confusing since the two blend over in so many areas that unless the makers specifically say "game only" or "anime only" they basically could essentially be applied to both. Then again, I primarily participate in anime communities, so unless specifically told to look for a game image, I don't really pay attention to those. ^^;;
