"It's latin. Yes. Definitely latin."
Sorensen looked over at Thorne in mild surprise. That had been unusually coherent - and possibly even relevant.
"So what does it say?" The botanist blinked.
"How should I know?" And that was the frustrating thing about the man - there was no surliness or sarcasm in the question, just genuine incomprehension. Sorensen sighed, and tried to force some patience into his voice.
"Just...try, okay?" Thorne peered at the writing, his lips moving silently, then he straightened and shook his head.
"It's no good. I just can't seem to get the hang of nominative case."
