I very much enjoyed tonight's Walking Dead. Last week's was even better!
On Talking Dead afterwards, they were discussing about who would be the most satisfying character to get to kill the Governor - Maggie, Mishone, or Andrea. Now, there's a good case to be made for Carol too, and that would be nicely out of left field. But there's only one character who really ought to kill the Governor, and that's freakin Carl.
For one thing, the Governor is an obvious foil for Rick, and if there's one thing that is true on this show, it's that obvious foils for Rick sooner or later get shot by Carl. When Rick eventually gets put down, it's gonna be by Carl. Because Carl cuts through the crap and shoots people in the head.
Here's what I'd like to see. Battle lines are all drawn, and the Governor's doing his little "look, I don't have a weapon let's talk and let me be a smarmy bastard" thing, and Rick is letting him talk and being a smarmy bastard with his gun pointed right at him but not like, firing or anything. And then Carl just shoots him. And our team are all like "CAAAAAAAAAAAAARL! THAT KILLS PEOPLE!" And all the Woodbury goons are like "HOLY CRAP THAT 12 YEAR OLD KID JUST SHOT OUR LEADER. A FREAKIN 12 YEAR OLD KID. YEAH, LET'S NOT MESS WITH THAT." And they all turn tail and run because Carl is completely terrifying.
And Carl's just standing there going "what?"
Frickin Carl.
