So, I've been spending all my lj time lately on
the I Like Doctor Who project and have thus been completely ignoring my regular journal. If anyone's still reading me, I apologize. In brief:
So...the Pope is resigning. I don't really have a reaction to that yet.
This Wednesday is our ten year dating anniversary (go us!) It's also Ash Wednesday :/ So we're going out tomorrow instead, to Eat, Drink, and be Married. Good times.
Walking Dead last night. Woo hoo! Tough stuff. And Rick seems to have gone totally insane. That's probably good. (Also, I heard the term "Ricktatorship" for the first time. That's awesome ) Yeah, we also watched Talking Dead and...it was good. Half literary analysis, half dirty jokes, and half tv magic. Sort of in the same spirit as Doctor Who Confidential, only more talk-show-y. I think I approve.
Shape Note yesterday! SHAAAAAAAPE NOOOOOOOTE! So much fun and we had a ton of people there! Convention is beginning of March - we might actually stay both days this year! :D
Saw the Tuvix episode of Voyager. Oh my God. But I had a real problem that everyone was just ...okay with it afterwards. This show has such a bad case of the Status Quo is God. (Also, how is the hologram the most moral/ethical character on the show? Oh right, because Robert Picardo. I very much liked that moment).
February 1st we went to see Patrick Ball and the Medieval Beasts perform the Legend of Tristan and Iseult. It was one of the most amazing concerts I've ever seen in my life. It was medieval storytelling, accompanied on period instruments. It was also the first time I'd ever head the story laid out like that in its entirety. This was a less murdery version than many. Also, man alive, Tristan does seem to get poisoned all the freakin time. I really need to write a giant post on all of this.
And lastly, Spring is in the air: "the sun is in the sky / a breeze is blowing by / and there's not a single fly." I need to start thinking about seeds.
