Global Replacement

Jun 28, 2011 02:14

It is a well-known fact that you can "improve" nearly every love song by globally replacing the word Love with the word Lunch.

I have just discovered that globally replacing the word Money with the word Monkey in song lyrics yields, if anything, even more hilarious results:

"I'm gonna love you till the monkey comes/
It hasn't yet so for now I'll stay (till the monkey comes)"

"And no-body seems to know/
Where did the monkey go?"

"Oh the things that I would do/
If I had a little monkey - /
It's a rich man's world!"

"I don't care too much for monkeys /
Monkeys can't buy me love!"

Or, that classic line from "Red Dead Revolver" :
"It never was about the Monkey."

...I think I may be on to something here, guys.
