Tornado Tonight!

Oct 26, 2010 14:45

I headed down to the post office to do some mailing, and while I was there, the sky opened up, buckets rained forth, and the tornado sirens went off. Oh, and the post office staff were unbelievably slow.

A sweet little old lady gave me a ride back home once the rain had let up a little. Turns out we had several tornadoes south of us, but the Franklin county sirens have just shut off. It' stll raining, though much more gently, and everything smells of wet pine needles. It's wonderful.

Down at Joel-Henry's thing today, they all had to go down to the basement to wait it out, and their inspirational speaker told them "It would appear, perhaps, we're all about to die." Good job team, you're made of awesome.

So now I'm going to make tea and listen to the rain while my shoes dry.

Oh! And someone found our letterbox this morning! I hope it is secure and dry!
