I speculated
some time ago on the reuse of titles for things. It turns out I'm not the only one. It seems tvtropes has a
List of Stock Episode Titles, based on data from the imdb. The title I was talking about, "The Enemy Within," is on there with 28 uses - although since this only counts episodes that number includes neither the book nor the Doctor Who episode (which is actually a made for tv movie officially entitled "Doctor Who: The Movie").
Not counting the made for TV movie, Doctor Who uses 14 of the stock episode titles over its entire run, 6 of which are in the new series. For contrast, of the 31 (distinctly titled) episodes we've watched so far of Stargate: Atlantis, 8 had Stock Titles (plus one honorable mention). That's one in four. I recognized a bunch from SG-1 as well, but didn't have any convenient way of counting those.
Also, Outrage! updated. Which is also not a Stock Title, especially now that the Monster of the Week has been revealed.

In other news, I made Orange Bread the other day from the Joy of Cooking recipe, and it was delicious. The dentist gave us both a clean bill of health yesterday, so we went the Circleville Pumpkin Show and proceeded to stuff ourselves with pumpkin donuts. The festival show was awesome (though my pictures came out lousy) and I got in a fight with Jon, Christin, and Susan over whether the OSU Marching Band is, as they claim, "the best damn band in the land."
It's not. That title goes by definition to the US Marine Corps. I maintain as I ever have that RCC is the best civilian marching band in the world. And I maintain that if you refuse to march woodwinds, you should not even think about competing for that title. OSU is not a marching band people! Deal With It.
And that's my allotted Marching Band pedantry for the year. GO TIGERS! RCC FOREVER!
