Man, I watched the hell out of Lady Snowblood on Thursday night. It's a must-see for Kill Bill fans; O-Ren was directly inspired by the protagonist Shurayuki-hime (although she really kind of isn't a princess, but oh well).
Meiko Kaji, the starring actress, sang two of the songs for KB: "Shura no Hana" and "Urami Bushi," both of which are theme songs for Lady Snowblood and Prisoner 419: Scorpion, respectively (and I mangled the second movie's title). There's also a sequel to LS, wherein she becomes a state-hired mercenary (sort of).
It's a great movie. Watch it.
