I could see elements of both San and Ashitaka from Princess Mononoke (info here), Seita from Grave of the Fireflies (info here), Lin from Spirited Away (info here), Calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle (info here), and Nausicaä from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (info here). I also quite like the Pazu (info here) vote you've gotten too.

I think...I might be leaning towards a double-vote for both Pazu and Lin overall. Pazu is a determined and stubborn character, as is Lin. They both like helping people out, though neither character likes being taken advantage of (and I'm pretty sure Lin would get really vocal if that happened to her). They both are rather independent characters too. Pazu can be funny at times, as can Lin...though I think Lin's humor falls more into the "sarcastic" range as well. Lin is also a character who doesn't trust others very easily, and both of them are characters who take a lot to get them really mad...but also have "boiling points" (Lin in particular can be quite frightening if she reaches hers). Lin is also definitely more the type of character to keep her inner thoughts and feelings to herself without voicing them (it takes her a really long time to admit that she cares as much as she does for Chihiro in particular...and even then it is more of a subtle change in her demeanor and actions towards her than a blatantly expressive one). I could see both characters fitting for The Challenger personality type based on its description, and Lin in particular might be more fitting for the Chaotic Good alignment given her responses to things. I could see both characters fitting for your Golden Compass Daemon Personality Type result...with Pazu fitting for certain elements of it (caring and loyal towards family and those they consider friends...and being sensitive, caring, and considerate in particular), while Lin could pretty much probably fit for the entirety of that personality type given her development in the film.

Untrusting, jealous, and unforgiving are all traits that could be associated with Lin...while Pazu perhaps could fit more for your indecisive trait. BOTH characters are more independent, determined/hard-working, curious, independent, helpful/loyal, and can be humorous at times too. Your first impression? Pretty much fits Chihiro's first impression of Lin wonderfully. XD And your description by others as persistent, humorous, dependable, friendly, hard-working, intelligent, loyal, funny, and generally nice once people have gotten to know you more fits rather well for both Lin and Pazu too. :D

Lin is a rather realistic character (though Pazu does have elements of realism at times as well), and both characters can be impulsive or logical depending on a situation. Lin is extremely cynical at first, and both characters are ones who at times prefer being followers...but are capable leaders when they have to be. Both characters are more reserved when first meeting someone, but open up just a little bit later (Pazu in particular...it took Lin a bit longer with Chihiro), and Lin definitely is more comfortable talking about superficial things over anything deeper too. Both are independent characters, and are really persistent if they are interested in something. Pazu in particular perhaps fits for the outwardly confident/inwardly modest aspect.

Lin would definitely perhaps relate to you wanting to change your inability to ask others for help as well, and I could see both characters sharing your viewpoints on conflict too. I could see both reacting similarly to the someone cutting in front of them in line scenario, and probably having similar reactions to the "world-altering battle" scenario too. Lin in particular seems like she would take an offensive role in a battle...and I remember Pazu being able to hold his own offensively when he had to at times too! :D
