I was going to post this a couple days ago but LJ was derping like crazy and I did not want to deal with it. Sorry about that, I swear I can't with LJ anymore. Once upon a time I made a list of themes I wanted to use for animan challenges. Said list sat on my hard drive for 2 years, today I decided to open it and randomly pick one for the first challenge. I hope you don't hate it, this was all done at random. Have fun. Sign-ups will be open until this challenge closes. Come join us plz.
For the first challenge we'll be interpreting the sins in a technical matter. For each sin I provided a couple of words that describe them in a technical matter. Your job is to choose one of the following and interpret it via your icon. (I.e. sloth = lethargic = simple icon.) Take inspiration from the words, textures, and icons I provided, use them as however you want and interpret these sins however you see fit. It does not have to be a by the book interpretation so you don't have to use a character that is the personification of these sins. You can icon whoever you want. :3 Have fun, throw rocks at me via comments. Remember you can interpret this however you see fit, whether through textures, coloring, characters, text, techniques, etc. This is a guided free-for-all round.
You will earn three points for submitting (plus any points you earn through voting), you will not earn bonus points this round for doing all the criteria. You do have the option of submitting a bonus icon worth two points (+ anything you earn from voting), the only catch is that you have to use some other criteria besides the one you used in your main icon.
SINS:
LUXURIA; "LUST" Ruby, alluring, close crops, lips, couple, seductive.
GULA; "GLUTTONY" Orange, complex, textured, cluttered, overflowing, unbalanced.
AVARITIA; "GREED" Yellow, textures, text, shiny, centered, vibrant.
ACEDIA; "SLOTH" Blue, simplicity, empty, soft, clouds, air, lazy.
IRA; "WRATH" Red, light blobs, fire, grunge, anger, textured.
INVIDIA; "ENVY" Green, empty, solid, gradient, jealousy, negative space.
SUPERBIA; "PRIDE" Purple, vanity, focus, solo, crop, portrait, textless.
MOD NOTE: I was going to provide images for those not too familiar with anime/manga but then I realized it may end with a bunch of icons using the same image. So instead I decided to link you to my favorite page @ a scan website. (I was going to do it via Minitokyo but you need an account and stuff.) Here's my favorites page @ Zerochan. Stick to only my favorites and try not to browse the site as it has a shit ton of fanart. Go to places like Minitokyo or Animepaper if you have specific series in mind. You can use any of the scans in there. Just be weary of some video game scans I have favored (?), if you have any questions about that just ask me or Google. :3 Ask me tho.INSPIRATION.LUXURIA

· Do NOT post your icon before the results are posted or you'll be dq'ed.
· Blending is allowed, as is animation.
· Stock images, brushes, text, coloring, textures, etc, are all allowed.
· Keep icons SFW (safe for work), no hentai or suggestive ecchi.
· Don't worry about defaulting, there will be no penalties for not submitting. If you're going to skip though please do notify me.
