The prodigal daughter returns

I know it's been a long time since I've posted. How do I know bast2 nudged me cause it had been 8 weeks since I last posted.

So what has transpired since then, lets see I know I wrote about the hail storm, well the windows are still broke out and the roof is still not fixed, only thing that has been fixed is the fence and that's because my stepson Clark and his buddy's Ben and Jesse and Mookie fixed it. The fiasco with the check from the insurance company, our bank, the mortgage company and the contractor is just too much to go into I think it might be working out in the meantime.

What else lets see the Regional meeting went off Ok not a great turn out but it was OK. I've moved out of my Science building office and into my grant's tutoring room instead of moving to the Admin building. Science is on 12th st Admi is on 5th st (St Francis is also on 5th St) We are all still teaching in Science ut the told us to be out of our offices by 9/11. (ominous huh) Some faculty sort of refused and still have a desk and a chair and a laptop (no phone no hardwire to the internet).

Oh almost forgot. I week before classes started while I was in the midwest at an education conference. I get a request to teach 2 senior labs I aven't taght for 5 years (granted I wrote the lab manual 20 years ago but stll)

Lets see what else, I and two other female faculty have been fomenting dissent, no not really just letting the chair now how disgruntled we are with the lab coordinator who sticks her noise into everything that isn't her job but doesn't do what is her job. Item in evidence, I go to do the labs I've been asked at last minute notice to do and guess what there is no oxygen in the department, there are 2 empty tanks. For there to be two empty tanks, at least two previous instructors had to have made her aware of the situation the two previous fall semesters before and she did nothing about it. Why? She didn't like either of them, and help she that one of them didnt get tenure.

Our department has had 3 microscopes one with a very expensive camera (used for forensic work) and 2 analytical balances stolen (finally after the third theft happened in broad daylight between our chairman setting up for a lab at 8;30AM and conducting it at 10Am said Lab coordinator put in cameras in the hallways and we've got pictures of the theif.

On the home front Bill's bought two more VWs, one is a 59 ragtop with semaphores, it's not in great condition but "we have the technology, we can rebuild him." Actually Bill wants to sell him to someone who is really in to restoratio, it would make a really cool car (but he's alrady named the car Linus) the other on is a 67 bug that belonged to friends in the club who had to move out of state and couldn't take it with them it's a primo car, the sold it to him for payments, nothing done just $100/mon but he can't drive it til it's all paid for that's the deal.

Oh and we final got the 76 bus but not really just his buddy Joey who was fixing it up for hm, said come take it for a while he had to go to Vancouver his Dad passed suddenly (Bill knows Joey's family it was a big shock). when Joey gets back the bus goes back for final touches and a new starting motor (it wouldn't start yesterday. And amidst all of this Bill has been having Kidney stone trouble, they finally(Incompentent nurse at his Urologist delayed the process for weeks!) blasted both kidneys with ultrasound last Tuesday to get the darn things and now his doing the drink a quart of water hang over the the bed and pee out the sand three times a day routine til he gets it all out.

My older cat is getting too skinny and my oldler dog Jet didn't seem well today so all in all I'm not happy, but I'm here
