Wow, what strong words make this beautiful proverb. I ran into this gypsy adage as the epigraph to a docu-movie "When the Road Bends: Tales of a Gypsy Caravan".

It also reminds me of those funny lines of the new Fruitopia flavour that decorate the subways: "This subway will go straight until the track tells it otherwise...".

But above all, it reminds me of one of my favorite poems from one of my favourite poets Robert Frost:

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood ( ... )

Hmm...why can't you walk straight if the road bends? Unless you're restricted to staying on the road....
