Crocodile hunt (new photo report from my African display)

Dec 26, 2007 11:46

I received new breathtaking pictures from my Schleich savannah. Below you will see a crocodile hunt - it’s a really enthralling sight.

A cute little elephant calf has come to a pond to refresh himself. And didn’t notice a crocodile approaching in the water.

The crocodile attacks but the calf recoils.

This time it’s a miss. Maybe next time?

A cute little lion cub calf is approaching the pond.

Just for curiosity he decides to climb the thick log that spreads over the water. The crocodile is on the look-out.

The croc thrusts himself forward…

… but the cub manages to evade the deadly jaws. He is running away and calling his mother.

The mother is already hereabout, but will she be in time to rescue her son?..

… or she won’t?..

Ah, there was a happy-end for the cub this time. And one more miss for the crocodile. Take note of a chimpanzee on the tree - he’s come to the pond to see the action closer.
