Some days ago first unofficial news and photos of Schleich-2012 have appeared (I’ll post my impressions later), but no official data have been published yet.
But on the November 1 we had super-great news from Collecta! Our British friend Numaan who is in contact with Collecta shared
the full list of 2012 models (no pictiures yet, only the list).
Here are the models that really enthuse me and ignite my collector’s fever (until I see the photos, at least :)):
- Capybara (let’s see how will it look next to Safari figurine)
- Capybara Babies
- Red River Hog !!!!!!! - one of the most sought-after figures in my wish-list and many of my fellow collectors!
- Waterbuck !!!
- Giant Eland !!!!!
- Giant Sable Antelope (they seem to watch STS forum!)
- Black Wildebeest (a black one, can you believe it?!!)
- Striped Hyena (a striped one, can you believe it again?!!!! I’ve seen only spotted ones by now, and only few of them were up-to-the-mark. Thumbs up for Collecta trying to be different!!!
- Red Panda
- European Lynx
- Walrus (I've not seen a really great walrus figurine yet, let’s see what Collecta has done)
- Walrus Calf (and what about a walrus female??? ;))
What’s interesting, Collecta is introducing a Bearded Dragon Lizard in 2012 simultaneously with Schleich. Coincidence?
Plants/Trees:
Williamsonia
Monanthesia & Cycadeoidea
As a tree lover, I'm also very glad to see the new trees, although they’re fossil ones…. Other brands haven't updated their tree line-ups for a long while.
