Had so much work to do for the last two weeks and couldn't pay enough attention the blog. And during this time info about the new stuff by two last major brands - Papo and CollectA - became available.
The list, pictures and comments on the new Papo-2011 figures can be found
here and
here.
Here's the most exciting figure by Papo for my taste - Mandrill:
In general, еhis year Papo is introducing a good variety of new wild animals, but what is unfortunately for me personally - many of them are too large. Well, it's usual for Papo, scale is the reason I didn't buy otherwise wonderful papo gnu and kudu ... For example, the new chamois is much bigger than Schleich's roe deer.
That's why I could add to my displays only 4-5 new Papo figures I like:
- mandrill: 100% must-have!!! A monkey at last! (although I'd wish it to be smaller - it's 7.5cm high, head and shoulders above the Schleich leopard which is 4.5 cm tall)
- young lioness and one or two new cubs
- marmot
- maybe yak - I like it's colour (as contrasted with the Schleich yak), but it's really huge.
Seeing the Yak among the novelties makes me smile. There were no yaks at the market for decades, and after Schleich has introduced one, we see another from Papo. Coincidence? ;) Fortunately, Papo yak is not light-grey but dark brown.
