Schleich has become a quality standard in the world of animal figurines, but their competitors also have some masterpieces, often not widely known to the public.
So I think it'll be cool and useful to make a kind of a "hit parade" of the most popular non-Schleich animal figurines (first of all the 4 major brands - Papo, Safari, Bullyland and CollectA). There’s
a thread at Laughing Giraffe where people tell which animal figures from manufacturers other than Schleich are their favorites.
15 people have listed their favorite non-Schleichs so far, and I think we can sum up current survey results.
An overall winner is the Safari Arabian oryx - he’s got 6 votes.
And here are the winners by brands.
Papo:
1-4.
Tiger,
hippo, male lion and lioness with cub - 5 votes each.
5. Nile crocodile - 3 votes.
6-7. Wildebeest, kudu and walking lioness - 2 votes each.
Safari:
1.
Arabian oryx - 6 votes.
2.
Cape buffalo - 4 votes.
3.
Anteater - 2 votes.
CollectA:
1-2. Peacock and
Swan - 2 votes each.
As to the
Bullyland, there were nine figurines named, but none of them got more than 1 vote.
The survey is going on, so everyone is welcomed to contribute!
