Part time job ideas...

I've been trying to figure out my next career move. I realize that I've only been in school for 6 weeks, but I see my classes as just a formalized version of what I will/should be learning out in the Real World(tm). I've been thinking about trying to find a part-time job that's actually, yanno, in my new field, but the problem is that I'm not experienced enough to have any kind of managerial position, and I don't want to just wind up in yet another administrative type job. Been there, done that, SO over it.

I talked to one of my professors about this last week, and he suggested that I should start with the Austin Convention and Visitor's Bureau. It's a good idea, but I also wonder if I should inquire at some of the other event centers, as well as hotels. But who would I talk to there? I have no freaking clue. I know I won't figure it out until I actually start contacting people, but... well... I've sort of been having trouble in the whole "getting in touch with people" area these last few weeks. Mainly, I've been trying to talk to people who arne't particularly interested in calling or emailing me back. I hope that this isn't a common thing within my new chosen industry, because it's rather annoying.

But enough fretting for tonight. I tried to get up early for the gym this morning and failed utterly, so tomorrow I try again. I've been so bogged down by trying to make extra money at work that I'm essentially working full-time again... baaaad habit... that the gym is slipping by the wayside. Priorities, darnit!
