I need basic-basic LJ for dummies. I do not know how to bookmark or tag and I cannot reliably find the manga_clubhouse page. not helped that I am just not happy in other areas of my life, I suspect...living with extended family is much more difficult than I had really assumed it would be, and I was previously aware that this would not be easy.

On the left you should see:
Tags:
-This is where you can add entry Tags. Separate them with commas for multiple Tags on a single entry. If you already have Tags that you have used (or Tags the community you are posting to has used), they will auto-fill as you start to type them.
Mood:
-You can use the pre-listed ones, or type in a personalized one.
Location:
-Any location you want to type in.
Music:
-Any music you are listening to.
If you leave any of these blank, they will simply not appear in your entry.
On the right you should see:
Allow Comments?
-You can use this to restrict commenting access to your entries (like if you just want to rant, but don't want anyone else commenting on your rant).
Comment Screening:
-If you don't want to restrict comments entirely, but just want to "screen" them, use this function. It's a good way to prevent Anonymous posters and non-Friends from making lewd comments on your entries.
Adult Content:
-This is for, basically, LJ's peace of mind. It's a disclaimer so that if you have any adult content in your entry, you can restrict access to those who are not of age to view it.
Everything below this:
You should always "Preview" your entries to make sure they are going to look like what you want them to look like (you can edit them as necessary either now or after submitted, and if you need help with Editing or anything like that, let me know and I will walk you through it separately). The spellcheck is kinda crappy. I just usually proofread my posts and make corrections later as I find more mistakes.
The last option before "Post" is the viewing restrictions. You can restrict who can see your entry to Everyone, Friends Only, Custom Friend Groups (which if you want to know more about that, is a little more advanced and I can walk you through it separately), or Only Yourself (for like a "true" private journal entry, or an entry you want to tweak more before making "public").
The last thing I will go over for you without prompting for more info from you are LJ Icons...
