1. Cute Genius

"In a word, Chinen-kun is a genius! He can do anything!" Ryutaro explained to the magazine interviewer. "A lot of people call me 'cute', but I think everything about Chinen-kun is cuter!"

Chinen could feel a warm blush creeping across his face and he a sudden urge to hide himself somewhere so he could start squealing. Everyone he knew called him cute; senpai's, fans, friends, family, staff members, and co-workers, but Ryutaro was the only who could make him get a warm, fuzzy feeling in his stomach.

2. Lapdog Still

The smallest member's legs dangled over the edge of the couch, barely skimming the ground. He looked around, feeling bored out of his mind, not to mention a tiny bit lonely.

"This is unusual." Yabu took a seat next to him. It was just like the nii-chan of the group to be able to sense someone who needed company.

"What's unusual?" Chinen asked curiously when Yabu didn't continue.

"You're not acting like a lapdog today," Yabu explained. It was true. Normally Chinen would be bouncing on either Takaki's or Arioka's laps.

The younger boy stuck his tongue out like the brat that he still was. "I'm not a dog! I'm a rooster!" Then he sighed and kicked his legs in frustration. "Takaki-kun banned me from his lap cuz Yama-chan was getting issues. Dai-chan gets too distracted by Yuuto and doesn't pay me any attention, so he's no fun anymore."

"My lap is always free," Yabu told him. Chinen gave him a long, apprehensive look. "What? Is there a problem?"

"Yabu-kun, you're just too bony. It's not comfortable at all."

Yabu visibly winced. "Gee, thanks. I'm just trying to help." Yamada was right, Chinen does have a sharp tongue. He frowned as he tried to think up of a solution for the 7 member. "What about Keito?"

"Too dangerous. You never know when Hikari-chan will pop out. I'm surprised Katie hasn't had a heart attack yet."

Yabu nodded understandingly. BEST had had to come up with a million and one ways to lure Hikaru away from Keito to give the poor Engrish boy some breathing space.

There weren't that many choices left now. "Inoo-chan, then?"

Chinen considered it. "Hmm...I've never sat on Inoo-chan's lap before..." he thought aloud. "I don't know..."

"There's still Ryutaro if you don't want Inoo," Yabu added casually.

Chinen's eyes went wide and he shook his head furiously.

"No?" Chinen nodded.

"Yes?" Chinen shook his head.

"Yes?" Chinen nodded, then stopped when he realized what he was doing. He glared at the now smirking Yabu and kicked him.

"Ittai!"

"You're just messing with me, aren't you?"

"You're the one that can't decide who's lap you want to sit on next," Yabu pointed out as he rubbed his leg in pain.

Chinen fell silent as he thought about what it would be like to sit on Ryutaro's lap. He didn't think it would work since he was already blushing just from thoughts of the younger boy.

Someone called Yabu's name and the older boy had to go. Chinen scanned the room for Inoo and bounced over when he found the BEST member.

"Inoo-chan, can I sit on your lap?" Chinen plopped down before the older boy could even respond.

Inoo blinked with surprise. Chinen doesn't usually sit on his lap, but it wasn't like he really minded, so he just shrugged and said, "Sure, but why me?"

Chinen pouted. "Takaki-kun and Dai-chan are too busy with their boyfriends now, so I don't have anyone else's lap to sit on." Inoo nodded, thinking about the other two BEST member's current obsessions.

After a while, Chinen felt a pair of eyes boring into him and looked around to see a glaring Ryutaro. He felt himself shrinking a bit under the glare and tried to fight down the rolling feelings of guilt in his stomach.

It didn't help matters when Inoo stated as if it wasn't a big deal, "I think Ryutaro's getting jealous."

"Why would he be?" Chinen asked, acting clueless.

Inoo gave him a 'don't-lie' look. "You know why."

Yeah, he knew. He was just in denial.

3. Birthday Present

Chinen was bouncing off the walls, jumping on the couch, back-flipping over the chairs and tables, and flailing like there was no tomorrow while the rest of JUMP congregated themselves in one corner so they wouldn't get in his way.

"Who's willing to go calm him down?" Yabu asked, looking around. No one would look at him. "Takaki?"

"When he's in that state? No way." Takaki crossed his arms to form an X. "If it was Ryo-chan on the other hand..." His eyes shifted down to Yamada, who blushed and hid his face.

Yabu looked around once more, but no one else seemed to be willing volunteers...or rather, victims. He sighed. "All right, I'll go..." He could only hope to come back out still sane.

"Wait." Inoo grabbed Yabu's hand to stop him. "It doesn't make sense to send Yabu. We should send Ryutaro instead."

"Oi!" Ryutaro exclaimed indignantly, but no one really listened to him.

"Think about it," Inoo explained like a schoolteacher. "JUMP still needs Yabu. But if we lose Ryutaro, we can always replace him with Shintaro. It's not like anyone's going to notice the difference." Everyone else apart from Ryutaro nodded as if Inoo had just spoken the words of a wise sage.

"Inoo-kun, I hate you," Ryutaro muttered as he dragged his feet over to Chinen, who was currently running around the couch while flailing his arms in an extremely dangerous manner. "Uh...Chinen-kun?" The words were barely out of his mouth when he felt himself being spung round and round in a highly dizzying and nauseating fashion.

"RYUTARO RYUTARO RYUTARO!!!!!" Chinen was now bouncing up and down like an overly drunk bunny rabbit while using his shoulder as a ledge. "GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT????"

Ryutaro didn't know, which was the whole reason why he got send there in the first place. Besides, it didn't seem like Chinen cared about whether he wanted to hear his rant or not, since the smaller boy just went right into his rant without waiting for Ryutaro's response.

"Ohno-kun...OHNO-KUN REMEMBERED IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY!!! HE KNEW TODAY WAS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! HE KNEW!!!!!" Chinen suddenly glomp-squeezed Ryutaro as he went high up to who knows where in his happiness. "WHEN HE PASSED BY ME IN THE HALL, HE TOLD ME 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'!!!!! HE EVEN ADDED 'HAPPY 15TH BIRTHDAY'!!!!! 15TH BIRTHDAY!! HE KNEW HOW OLD I AM!!!!!!!!!!!! AND HE PATTED MY HEAD!!!!!!!!!! OHNO-KUN ACTUALLY PATTED MY HEAD!!!!!!!!! KYAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!! HAFHEIOPHFAIOPWFIOEWAHFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

JUMP wasn't really sure how exactly Ryutaro was able to put up with Chinen for the rest of that day, but then decided it was just one of the many mysteries of love and left it as that. According to Hikaru, Shintaro had seemed rather disappointed when informed he wouldn't be replacing his brother, although it was hard to tell whether it was because his brother was still around or because he really wanted to sneak into JUMP.

4. Special Birthday Cookies

Chinen hugged a box of cookies close to him, unable to stop smiling and humming little tunes of joy. Hearts were practically being emitted out of him and floating around in the background.

"Whoa, cookies!" Hikaru came in and caught sight of the treats and stupidly decided to take one.

5 minutes later, he was nursing an arm full of cat-like scratches and one very large bite mark while crying to Keito about how scary Chinen could become.

"Baka, that's what you get for trying to take away cookies that Arashi gave to Chinen for his birthday," Arioka chided from the couch where Yuuto was trying to teach him the hand game he and Yamada had been playing in the making of Hey! Say!

"But...but...but..." Hikaru sniffed and glomped Keito, now crying about how cruel the rest of JUMP was.

5. Poke

Ryutaro poked Chinen's sides, making him jump with surprise. Chinen whipped around to say something, only to have the words die in his mouth as Ryutaro continued poking him. He soon dissolved into helpless giggles as Ryutaro relentlessly tickled him.

"M-m-mou!!" Chinen choked out, still laughing.

"Your expression is so cute when you're getting tortured," Ryutaro laughed at Chinen trying to pout. He pulled the older boy into a hug and Chinen felt his pout melt away. He sighed happily and snuggled into the embrace, feeling his heart pounding uncontrollably hard.

6. Nervous

Chinen could feel his palms growing sweatier and gulped, feeling the nervous flutterings of butterflies in his stomach. He took in a deep breath and unsteadily released it back out. Slowly, he opened the door and peeked in. A quick scan of the dressing room told him Ryutaro hadn't arrived yet. Sighing with relief, he swung the door open so he could get in.

"Hi, Chinen-kun." A familiar voice came from behind him. Chinen slipped, stumbled, tripped, and fell. He really hated it when Ryutaro appeared out of nowhere like that.

7. Interesting Things Happen While You Sleep

Chinen was at the state between half-asleep and half-awake. It was getting cold on the couch, but he was too lazy to get up and find a blanket to cover himself with. So he curled himself into a little ball to try and get some warmth without much success.

He vaguely heard someone come into the room and wondered who it was, but again, he felt too lazy to open his eyes to check. He thought that someone must be psychic though, because the next thing he knew, there was a warm blanket covering him.

"Arigatou..." he mumbled sleepily, taking in a soothingly familiar scent but couldn't remember whose it was.

The person tucked his hair behind his ears and gently stroked his head, the rhythmical motion making him fall back asleep.

By the time he woke up, whoever it was had already gone and Chinen wondered if he had just been dreaming. But then he realized the blanket, which actually turned out to be a jacket, was still there. Chinen looked all over it, trying to find some sort of identification, then pulled out a piece of paper from one of the pockets. It was a folded up note and when he opened it, he smiled at the contents. It was a picture of an umbrella with two names under it. Morimoto Ryutaro and Chinen Yuuri.

8. Dare to Kiss?

He really regretted it now. Mental note to self: never choose dare when playing truth-or-dare with JUMP. He looked at the boy next to him to see the same expression flickering across the other's face: like he wanted to bury himself underground or magically disappear elsewhere.

"No backing out, Chii!" Hikaru insisted. "You're the one that chose dare. Besides, it's not that hard." He turned right around to kiss Keito, as if that would prove his point.

"Hikaru!" Keito glared after he pushed the older boy away.

Chinen turned back to Ryutaro to see the younger boy furtively trying to back away and hide behind something. Chinen closed his eyes and sighed, wanting to get the stupid dare over with already. He crawled up to the youngest member fast enough so he wouldn't have any time to react and pressed his lips against the younger boy's.

9. Hot Chocolate + Mug = Blush

“Ryu-chaaaaaaan~” Chinen whined. The younger boy just sipped his hot chocolate and stared back at him. After a few moments, when it became apparent that Ryutaro wasn’t going to say anything, Chinen went on, “I’m cold~!” He brought his knees up and shivered, hoping to get some empathy.

He pouted as Ryutaro just shrugged and said, “Put a jacket on?” He stared at him blankly for a few seconds, then pulled the mug of his hands and took a sip as well.

“Oi!” Ryutaro sounded irritated. Well, at least he was paying attention to him now, but Chinen still stuck his tongue out at the younger boy for ignoring him earlier.

Ryutaro sighed, wondering why he always put up with Chinen, and placed his hands on top of the older boy’s, since he wanted his mug back. When he looked up and caught the expression on the older boy’s face, he decided it was worth have half his hot chocolate get jacked if it meant he could see the cute blush that was spreading across Chinen’s face.

10. Cat Ears

“Ryutaro, we have a problem,” was the greeting he received when he first arrived.

“Ehh?” Before he could ask what the problem was, he found himself getting pushed into JUMP’s dressing.

“Ryu-chan!” Something knocked him down and began snuggling up to him.

He blinked, not sure what he was seeing. “Chi-chinen-kun?”

“Hmm?” Chinen blinked up at him with wide, innocent eyes.

“Why are you wearing cat ears?”

Chinen shrugged, and then began rubbing his head against Ryutaro like…well, like a cat.

“Has he gone back to human yet?” Yabu asked as he poked his head in. “Oh…guess not.”

Ryutaro shot him a ‘what-the-hell-happened-here’ look as Chinen began pawing at one of the strings dangling off his jacket. He could’ve sworn the other 7 member was actually purring as well.

“There was a pair of cat ears on the table. Chinen thought they looked cute, so he put them on and the next thing we knew, Hikaru had run out the room screaming and Chinen wouldn’t stop meowing.”

“…”

11. Running's Good for You

“Ryutaro!” The cry echoed throughout the entire Jimusho for all to hear. A second later, the youngest JUMP member was tearing down the halls as fast as his legs could carry him. He threw opened the doors to the Junior’s dressing room and had barely slammed it shut before it was yanked opened again.

“Did Ryutaro come in here?” Chinen asked, looking around at all the Juniors, which included Taiga, Anderson, and Shintaro. Everyone shook their heads and Chinen pulled back out, frowning. There was no other room for Ryutaro to run into…

He suddenly skidded to a stop as he realized something. He had only seen the back of Shintaro and he knew the little boy had really long hair now, but when he looked, it had been short…

“RYUTARO!” Chinen made a complete 180 and turned right back.

Ryutaro slammed his head and cursed. Chinen was too observant for his own good. He was about to run back out through the other door when one of the Juniors stopped him and pointed at one of the corners where Nakajima Kento and Kikuchi Fuma were holding Shintaro hostage-style with a hand clamped over the 11-year-old’s mouth.

“Don’t forget you promised to get us pictures of Yamada-kun and Yabu-kun.”

Ryutaro nodded before running out the back door to face another round of ‘Chinen-chases-Ryutaro-all-over-the-Jimusho.’

12. Melon Pan

Chinen skipped into the room and his eyes immediately lighted on Ryutaro. He bounced over to the youngest member and began poking him. Reluctantly, the younger boy looked up from his manga, looking annoyed at being disturbed. "What do you want, Chinen-kun?"

Chinen held out a bag with melon pan inside. "Feed me?"

Ryutaro made a disgruntled sound. He couldn't read manga for this? "You're 15 years old already. You can feed yourself." He felt like a mother lecturing her son.

Chinen just gave him a kicked, half-starved puppy look and began whimpering. Ryutaro's expression softened and he sighed. "Fine..."

Chinen immediately lost the puppy look and scrambled to sit down, traditional Japanese style. He knew Ryutaro couldn't say 'no.' "Douzo~" He handed the melon pan over. Ryutaro pulled the bread out a bit and held it as the older boy nibbled bits and pieces off.

"Ne, Ryutaro. You want some?" Chinen asked after he had finished half the melon pan. He pushed it towards the younger boy, who tore off pieces and began eating the melon pan as well.

"You can have the last one." Ryutaro held it out for Chinen, who put it in his mouth and then looked at him expectantly.

"Nani?" The younger boy tilted his head, looking confused.

Chinen frowned and scooted in closer, so their faces were only inches apart. Hesitantly, Ryutaro leaned forward to take some bread while making sure his lips wouldn't brush against Chinen's. As soon as the younger boy had leaned in, the older boy closed the rest of the distance between them and wrapped his arms around the younger boy's neck. Chinen's heart beat sped up when he felt Ryutaro's hand sliding around his waist to pull him closer.

"You taste like melon pan," Chinen commented when they pulled apart. "I knew it was worth it!"

"You went to the trouble of buying melon pan just for a kiss?"

13. Umbrellas

"It's raining, it's pouring~" Chinen looked up dejectedly and sighed. Of course, he had to forget his umbrella the day he actually needed it. He stepped out from the shelter of the roof and instantly felt large drops of rain splattering against his face. He turned around to go back inside, thinking about calling home in hopes of someone being able to come pick him up and nearly collided with Ryutaro.

"You didn't go home yet?" he asked the younger boy after he recovered his balance.

"Uun." Ryutaro shook his head, looking at him questioningly. "I thought you had already left."

Chinen pouted and muttered, "I don't have my umbrella...which why I'm standing out here, getting wet." As soon as he said those words, he realized the rain wasn't getting wet anymore. Glancing up, he saw Ryutaro was holding the umbrella at an angle so the rain wouldn't fall on him. "J-ja, I'm going in to call kaa-san." He walked past the other 7 member, feeling his cheeks warm up the slightest bit.

"Wait." Ryutaro grabbed his wrist to stop him. "I can take you home." He pulled Chinen closer next to him, so they were both sheltered under the umbrella.

Chinen tried hard to control his breathing so he wouldn't seem too abnormal, but still, the sound of his thumping heart seemed unusually loud to his own ears. He only hoped Ryutaro's hearing wasn't too sharp.

"I-it's f-fine," Chinen stuttered. "I-I can call h-home." He tried, and failed, to pull out of Ryutaro's grip.

"What's wrong?"

"Hi-Hikari-chan said it's like people are lovers if they share the same umbrella," Chinen said before he could stop himself.

"That's why you don't want to share umbrella?" Ryutaro's expression was unreadable. "Okay, you can get drenched if you want to then." He released his hold and walked off, taking away the cover of the umbrella as well.

"C-chotto!" Chinen's tone was indignant as he ran to catch up, his feet disturbing small puddles of water that had been produced by the downpour. He took Ryutaro's free hand and held on tight. He knew he was blushing visibly as he muttered, "I don't mind...sharing...umbrella..."

Ryutaro squeezed his hand back and leaned closer to place a gentle kiss on his forehead.

"E-eh?" Chinen stared at him in surprise, feeling shocked, but before he could ask further questions, the younger boy was planting a kiss on his lips instead.

Chinen slowly closed his eyes to return the kiss as he enjoyed the tingling sensation spreading throughout his body. He felt a comfortable pressure at the back of his head and vaguely heard the clatter of the umbrella dropping onto the ground as the feel of Ryutaro's fingers running through his hair made him go weak. All thoughts slipped away as they kissed with the pitter-patter of the rain falling around them.

14. Arigatou

"Ryu-chan!!" The youngest member's breath was knocked out of him by the impact of a force tackling him from behind. There was only one person who called him by that name and he wasn't surprised to find that person's arms being thrown around him in a tight, life-squeezing hug.

"Chii!! I...can't...breathe!!" he choked. Chinen quickly untangled his arms and scrambled around the bench so he could be sit next to Ryutaro. He scooted in closer, placing his head on the younger boy's shoulder and intertwining their fingers together. Ryutaro blushed, feeling his heart skip a few beats. He tightened his hold and sighed, wishing he could spend more time with Chinen like this.

"Ne, Ryu-chan?" Chinen swiveled his head so he was looking straight up at the younger boy. "Arigatou...for loving me."

15. Mistletoe

The door bell rang and its sounds resonated throughout the empty house. Chinen shifted his weight and rubbed his mittened hands together to keep warm while he waited. A few seconds later, the door opened a crack, and the 7 member's face lit up when he saw who it was.

"Merry Christmas, Ryutaro!" Chinen held out a colorfully wrapped present to give to him.

"Thank you, Chinen-kun." Ryutaro smiled as he took the present with both hands. He opened the door wider to let the older boy bounce in. "You didn't have to come all this way just to give me a present though. Isn't it really cold outside?"

"Daijoubu!" Chinen chirped happily as he twirled around the living room. "I wanted to come over anyway." He suddenly stopped twirling and stared at Ryutaro with a blank expression. "Unless you don't want me here?"

Ryutaro sighed and set his present down on the table. He went over and held Chinen tenderly in his arms. "Baka, don't say that. I always want you with me."

Chinen wrapped his arms around Ryutaro's neck, literally glowing with a bright light.

"Ah!" He looked up in surprise at something that had caught his eye.

"Nani?" Ryutaro looked up curiously and saw a (random) mistletoe hanging above them. "Oh, it's just a mistletoe."

"U-un." Chinen swayed nervously, wondering if Ryutaro would be the type to give him a kiss just because they were standing under a mistletoe. He gulped and tried to squirm away, getting too nervous.

"Matte." Ryutaro held him close as he kissed him softly on the lips. "Merry Christmas."
